My brother-in-law had a stroke a few days ago, and an hour ago I got word that he's not expected to live through tonight. My sister's torn apart. Please guys, send her your good thoughts and prayers and strength, and also some to his family and mine. This was unexpected in the extreme and we're all in quite a bit of shock and pain. Thanks.

I am so sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

Good Lord! He can't be old enough for a stroke, can he? Jeez, people, I guess we need to start watching our blood pressure a lot younger than we have been. I'll put you guys on the prayer chain. PM me his name?

My sympathies and hopes for healing. I can't possibly know what you're going through, but I can want your pain to ease.

Bear. I had my first stroke at 27. Not high blood pressure. In fact all five strokes they discovered my BP would plummet.

Oh, no. I'm so very sorry.

Sending strength for you and your family. :rose:

:rose: Sending you, your family, your sister and your brother-in-law my most ardent prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you, everyone. I haven't heard anything new...but the rest of my family does know now. I've been asked to stay here for the time being so that she'll have someone right when she gets back if need be, so I have no plans to head out west at the moment. Which is driving me nuts...I feel utterly helpless. At this point all we can hope, I think, is that he is without pain and will pass in peace. Again, my deepest thanks to all of you. :rose:

So sorry to hear this. We will certainly keep you and yours in our thoughts and prayers.

All my comfort and blessings to you and everyone in your families Kat :rose:. Be well and stay strong

Update

He made it through the night...my sister and his brother spent the night with him. I spoke to Dad earlier this morning and was told that he's on a ventilator and drugs to keep his blood pressure up, but his heart is beating on its own. They need to do a series of tests now to determine whether or not he has any brain activity, but they're not optimistic about that. So now it's a waiting game.

Thanks again guys for the outpouring of wellwishes and good thoughts. I really do appreciate it. :rose:
