Yesterday was my B-day, and the wife decided that really good sex would be the perfect birthday present.

So we're about 1/2 way through a really good session. The bed is rocking so to speak. Well, the bed is rocking so hard that the box springs literally broke!! Now this isn't some cheap bed set. It's a high dollar Serta Queen size box springs and mattress. The whole internal workings of the box springs have completely collapsed on one end. A large piece of the box spring shot through the top of it, and tore a good sized hole in the mattress.

So after the euphoria of the session had worn off, I was hit with stark reality..... It's gonna cost several hundred dollars at a minimum to get a new mattress and box spring set.

So yeah, good sex can be expensive.

I applaud your rambunctiousness. If your mattress isn't too old, check with the place you bought it. Mine was beginning to break down, I talked to the guy at the store. More guys came out and looked at the bed and brought out a new mattress that week. No charge.

Most mattresses come with a 10 or 15 or 20 year warranty, I don't know if the box spring is covered in that warranty as box springs are fairly cheap. So it looks like you might be putting our, so to say, for new.

Mattresses can be replaced, mate. A great sex life can't so easily. Good for you and the missus. Great sex isn't everything in a marriage, but it doesn't exactly hurt, or so I'm told.

Had to laugh and cheer at this one. Good sex is usually never pretty. It can be amazing, passionate, steamy and more, but usually never pretty.

In this case it was pretty damn amazing and yeah, check your mattress warranty. We've had one replaced already and if the mattress was damaged by box springs that you purchased with it, it should be covered. So you can try again without the boxspringus interruptus.
