Good evening my dear colleagues, I trust all are well?

We spend a lot of time exchanging views on what we as writers do, what our readers want and all the tricks, styles, tactics and so forth that go along with that. What, I ask, is a "good recipe" to combine all our ingredients and what ingredients are the best to be used, in your opinions of course.

For example, do we;
Add 145lbs of (blond/brunette/redhead) female
Add 160lbs of Male (to taste)
2 Tbsp of Angst
4 Qts. Seminal fluid
A dash of Domination
A Tbsp. of Consent
11lbs Raw Sex

Mix all together and write for 1-12 hours until a metal skewer comes out clean.

What do you think? Would you like a slice of that pie or would you prefer to bake your own?
Most respectfully,
D.

Where writing is concerned I'm a "What ingredients have I got in the fridge? Let's improvise something around that" kind of cook. I think writing to a formula can be a viable commercial strategy but it's not what I'm here for.

@Erozetta,
Good evening and thank you for visiting my humble thread... I don't know exactly what made me think of it but are you seriously telling me that if you wanted to bake a Lasagne you wouldn't start with pasta? What would you throw in the bowl?

As for writing you don't start with an idea, just some words?
Respectfully, as ever,
D.

If I wanted to make a lasagna I would start with ricotta, tomato sauce, and sliced vegetables. Pasta doesn't come into play until the final step.

But what I mean is much like what Bramblethorn said. I don't start with a notion of what I'm going to "make" I just see what I've got on hand and figure out what I can do with it.

No, I rarely start with an idea when I write. I sit down to a blank screen and see what happens when I start typing.

While that pie sounds tasty, I prefer to bake my own. When I "bake", I get an idea, a few basic ingredients, and toss in more stuff as I go. I do this while I have a picture of the final product in my mind.

I don't write cook books, I tell tales.

Full-bodied and satisfying tales that take the readers on a journey, and hopefully hungry for more. Tales where the characters are the main "ingredients".

She looked a tasty young bird, pale white soft skin with firm well filled breasts as she lay leg spread on the table, exposing her gapping hole, waiting for John to stuff her with his sausage meat.

John pushed his fingers deep inside. He could feel she'd need a lot of stuffing, at least two fist fulls. Taking a big dollop, he shoved his fist deep and savoured the squelch as he fingered every corner. When he pulled out, it was hard to resist licking his fingers.

"Don't forget to stuff both holes," called his wife, "and tie the legs so it doesn't drip out."
