I could get the student addition of Adobe but it’s still rather expensive. I’m not looking for anything fancy, just a program with a few more options than paint.

Do you know of any?

Ulead PhotoImpact comes free with alot of stuff, its a clone without the super-fancy features, really

Not if she wants to be legal.

I want a big mac.

Hey I’m trying to be good and uphold the constitution.. or something like that.
*Quickly hides her massive collection of pictures and videos*

Seriously though, I don’t need Photoshop so I’d rather not break the law to get it.
All I’m going to be doing is making a large number of images smaller and black and white..

Ahhh.. Thank you one and all. I will now get busy with my copyright violations. Er, I mean, my totally legal alteration of images.

GIMP is totally free and very powerful.

... you just have to load linux on your machine too.

But GIMP is the best.

I thought it was an insult

Adobe Photo Deluxe is a great editor......Its not free unless you well whatever......

Be careful downloading anything that claims to be free....I have vound that a lot of the free editors wont allow you to save your work. These may be trial versions......

I have never found a decent totally free editor.

In America, software developers are the only people allowed to call their products GIMP without public uproar. Imagine what would happen if a cosmetics or automobile company called one of their protucts GIMP.

I'm trying to download it now CoolidgEffect. What version are you using?

If that's all you're doing, THIS is what you need. It's tiny, it's free, it's surprisingly versatile, and it just flat out works. And if you don't like it, you'll not find an easier-to-uninstall program.
