What kind of problem are you having? I'm not expert, but I might be able to help.

Clicked on attatch file.

Browsed and selected the photo i wanted to add.

clicked post .............. and that was all i thought i had to do.

obviously not.

Browse, click on the file, click on open in the browse window. You should then see the file location in the box to the left of the browse button. Click on either post or submit reply. Have to watch the file size, but if it's too big a window should put up telling you that. If it does, click on the back button, resize the pic and try attaching it again.

What format are the pictures in? bmp? open them in something like paint and save as jpeg, jpegs are around three times smaller than bmp.
