I just want to tell you of the passing of my favourite film director, Ingmar Bergman. His films were, well tough, but a true pleasure and a visceral experience to me in every way. He epitomized style and symbolic expression in film and was a true master of his medium.
He is most renowned for Persona and The Seventh Seal, yet my personal favourite was and will always be Cries and Whispers.
If you get the chance to see the homage parodies of his work Stardust Memories by Woody Allen and especially De Duva, which is a hard to find short, please do.
A wonderful auteur that influenced the style of many N.A and International filmmakers and certainly had an impact on me as both a spectator and writer.
I hope others have seen his films and have something to share of their favourites.
If not, so be it. In the end, goodnight, Mr. Bergman, you gave me years of pleasure and much to think on.
