So I just got the mail for today. Usually I detest getting any mail because it's usually bad news. (I don't get bills via snail mail...I use automatic bank draft)

But today was different.

Three years ago I totalled my car in an accident on Friday the 13th at 7:45 AM in a major southern US city. Yes, I was everyone's best friend that morning on the interstate bypass.

Well, my insurance company tried to fuck me over and it took a couple of months to get it straightened out with the help of an attorney.

Just a little while ago, I got a big envelope from Farmers Insurance. Seems there was a class action suit against them and they have settled. It appears that Farmers Insurance "failed to pay to their insureds the amounts required under their respective policies of automobile insurance for total loss claims."

Of course Farmers denies this...but to "avoid uncertainty, expenses, risk, and delay of continued litigation"..... they're paying out.

So now I'm going to fill out these forms and hopefully see a little compensation.

Cash works for me!!!!

So, if you have been unfortunate to be

1. a bad driver
and
2. insured by Farmers......CHECK YOUR MAIL.

When my car was totaled it was the other drivers fault (she ran the red light and t-boned me on the passenger side) but she had State Farm and I was paid a hansome sum plus for a messily sum of $15.80 I got to keep my car, which still ran. So for a car I paid $3,000 for originally, drove for 9 years put in only about $500 for repairs along the way and received $1,580 net, plus drove for another 3 years before junking it, I think I made out on that deal.
