Winter in New York has finallly arrived. It's amazing to me how most folks react to the plus/minus 15 degree temp change centered around water freezing. 42 or 45, not much of a problem for most folks but 5 or 10 below 32 - burrrrrrr.

Sunny here too. Not bad.

Went on a major Target' excursion this past Saturday - bought nearly all of our X-mas thingies. Cards, wrapping paper, lights - (Who does up lights out there?)- You guys should see the big Mafia neighborhood here - where Gatti and all the other henchmen of all the other families live (I actually can't think of the name right now - but it's a real place, you know the Saprano neighborhood.) These Guido's, they have billions of lights on nearly every house there.
A-fucking-mazing!!!!

Did anyone see Tom Green on Sat. Night Live??? Man!!!! Wild!!!!

Feeling about a 10'ish - short week in US for us Thankgiving types. Turkey day. My middle son's B-day! Beginning of the holiday season.

I hope, soon - it will snow like hell...... I love snow.

Later.

Good morning, sunny but cold here. No snow for us,but the day is off to a good start. Happy Monday, if there is such a thing-lol.

Mornin' Sparky,,, we do the lights thing here,,, not millions,,, but certainly more than a few,,,

Starting this Sunday evening just after dark and continuing until Christmas,,, we'll load the kids up in the car and just ride around to look at the lights,,, some are garrish and blazin', some subdued and delicate,,, but all attract our attention and we marvel at the beauty of lights in the dark.

We had a dusting of snow yesterday,,, I'm ready for the real McCoy though,,,

Sitting high at a 10.oh this Monday morning

Morning Sparky.......you mean you like snow? Now I know it's a Monday.

Hey Sparky

Sunny (yea) and cool here this morning.

Christmas lights. There oughta be a law. No illumination prior to December 1st. Sure, put 'em up while its warmer, no problem. In fact it makes good sense. But for fuck sakes don't fire em up prior to December 1. Thats just silly.

I use "icesickle" (sp) lights so I refrain from putting them up until they are going to be lit. This is due to the fact that my house has a sage green siding and they are very noticable against it.

As far as lighting "showcases" in this neck of the woods the St. Marys "First Nation" has a Festival of Light that is quite spectacular. On a clear night it is visible from 10-12 miles away. Once on the rez you could read a newspaper with the ambient light.

Have a good day. I am at an 8 or so this AM.

One more week of freedom for me, then it's back to the trenches! lol
I am constantly amazed at how much my children LOVE tracky Christmas lights. White icicle light across the front and a lite wreath on the door is ho-hum, but colored lights encircling the house, in every bush and even stapled to the siding and it becomes a work of art much like the Sistine Chapel. So beautiful in fact everytime we leave the house, we must drive past it and pay homage! Kids, you gotta love them. lol
I'm about a 7.5 right now but hopefully that will be rising as the day progresses. I'll keep you informed.

mornin' sparks

Weather here is pretty cold. Around 40 for the high. They predicted snow this weekend, and we had a couple of flurries here and there, but nothing major.. Altanta got sleet didn't they?

I saw SNL and wasn't impressed with the guest. Actually I thought it was one of the worst shows yet. What does Drew Barrymore see in that man?

I'm avoiding work right now. I have a ton of it to do.. so much so that I'll be working overtime all week and weekends for the next 5 weeks. ugh

Speaking of Christmas, though.. my son got a hold of the Sears "Wishbook" and circled every damn toy in the thing for his list of goodies.. laughing.. But, I think I will get a his 'n hers scooter from Santa this year and race him around the neighborhood.

*kiss*

6.3 and signing out

I love the Christmas lights, the gawdier the better. To me it shows ambition I don't have. I look at some of them and wonder how many Sunday afternoons it took.

I bought a six-foot tall Dancing Santa, one of those noisy things, kind of turns me on a little. It's anatomically correct, so riding is optional. I wish it would sing a different song though,

"Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up it's grand, my cock in your hand....."

Sounds like a rule to me -

In our new apartment here in Manahttan - we are an "R" as in 3R, as in 3rd floor/rear. The buildings here are very old and not so high but high enough - 5 floors - to render anything we do (on the outside fire-escape) as far as decorations - pretty worthless. Lights would only provide a show for those few neighbore across the alley.

And - no drive-bys at all - maybe a walk-by by a few rodents but virtually no human traffic behind our building. Bummer. I don't even know how to get back there without climbing out our window.

We will simply string lights up on our mantle. And yes - we are excited about our fire-place - there are very, very few working fireplaces left in Manhattan - but we have one. Yeah!!!

Fired it up last night for the first time - worked great. Now if I can just get past the price of wood - $10 for about - 8 short/quartered pieces. That lasted us about 3 hours.
Not efficiant, not for hear - but decorrative and romantic.

And with about 760 square feet - we don't know exactly where our mini-tree will go. Probably right where the babies high-chair is - we'll put that on the kitchen wall.

I mean, we don't even have space enough to store christmas gifts until we wrap them - no space for the wrapping paper either. Just gotta leave it out on furniture 'til we wrap it - then put up the tree - and then put them under the tree.

Man I envy those of you who have some space.

Dear Santa - I've been a very good boy (lie, lie, lie) please bring me - MORE SQUARE FOOTAGE!!!!! Please!

Ya know TN.....

I certainly can see how Tom Green is an aquired/or not - taste (less) person. I did not see but the beginning of the show but, but, but......

Look very close at Drew - she's a very lucky girl - check out her side/profile - that chin and that jaw are freaky. And she's got a weight problem (well not too much) but she will. If you check Tom out - while he's got his tounge in his mouth and smileing - he's not such a bad looking guy - tall too - I think they are fit for each other.

As for "light shows" I got this idea a couple of years ago. I went to some "glass/kitchen-ware store" - I bought a cheep, tall "candle vain" (is that what you call them?) - it's an open ended, curvy, clear peice of glass you put over a tall candle so the breeze won't blow it out. Then I got some of those colored X-mas lights that had (I can't find them anymore) like 10 settings/programs - you know, fades, chasers, flashes and the like. Then I stuff them, haphazardly into the candle vain and then I hot clued the control to the side and bingo - instant hippy-lightshow. Too cool.

I use it year round.

I'm kinda like Martha Stewart post-acid.

Good Morning Sparky and the rest of y'all

It is 35 degrees here and sunny.

No Christmas lights here until next week. I always ask that one o my birthday presents be that my outside lights get put up without (<~corrected thx CW) him cussing screaming or bitching at me.

As for the tree, we will probably take the kids to see The Grinch on Thanksgiving night and buy the tree on the way home, so it will have a few days for the branches to settle before we decorate it.

The closest point in NJ......

During rush-hour - puts me at least an hour and fifteen minutes away from our child. And that's is all goes well.

And doesn't get you a whole lot more space.

If you want a house - for the same money we paid here in NYC and you need some space - first off you gotta have a car. Then you gotta move out - I mean move way the fuck out - I work with folks here in Manhattan, that must have - a "normal surburban living" a lawn, a garrage, etc.. Making what most folks make - they have to live in Princeton or way out the Island - some folks even come in daily from Philly - we're talkin' an average of 1.5 to 2 hours commute - one way.

Nope - I'd rather walk - and keep it tight.

Ummmm? Julia dear, do you mean that you actually ask for your lights to be put up with him cussing, screaming or bitching at you? ;)

Is there an SM streak in you just hasn't shown it's self yet?

LOL No that should have said "Without" I get all the bitching I can take when it is time for the lights to come down.

sparky

I did notice Drew's profile. Not too wonderful, but that doesn't mean much. I mean, look at Melanie Griffith and Antonio! Mel's not a killer, but Antonio is .. well, much more handsome that I imagine she'd ever end up with. Tom is just not funny to me. I suppose I'll never acquire whatever is needed in order to consider him likable. *shrug*

Saw the Grinch yesterday.

Yeah Vix.....

Agreed on Antonio - hell! I'd fuck him! The Shebabe thinks that "he is it!!!!"

And Mel? What's with the fake lips? I think I might laugh if they were wrapped around my cock.

Errrrrr? Maybe.

went to the video store

this weekend. Rented "The Godfather" (Al Pacino.. swoon) and some other old flicks. Last weekend saw "Crazy in Alabama" w/Mel Griffith and her lips were... well, like Goldie Hawn's in "First Wives Club" .. saw an old flick she was in and ... I sorta understand. She had NO lips before. LOL. Maybe Antonio wanted a fuller feel when he smootched?

I heard Antonio was gay too.. but.. yeah I'm with you there. I'd do him.

Libby???

Sounds like an "old lady's" name to me. How about something like G. Gordon, as in Litty?

Ya know somthing< Sparky? You just gave me an idea for a new thread. Check it out.
