As Mondays go, this one isn't too bad so far. Though in the back of my mind I am kepping an eye on it,,,

Thanksgiving is just days away now with all that TRADITIONAL food and activities.

Family only for this Thanksgiving. We'll eat later in the day with the first half or so being given over to hanging Grandma's outdoor Christmas lights,,, Raking the leaves in her yard so the kids can redistribute them by jumping in them,,, picking magnolia leaves and boxwood clippings to begin Christmas wreaths with,,, yes indeed! A wonderful week in store here.

The weather is looking good all this week also,,, a high of the mid forties only,,, just cool enough to lend a feeling of late autumn. Warmth outside on Thanksgiving is just so,,, so,,, BLAH!

Sitting here at a full 10.0 on Spark's meter, and loving it.

Hope that ya'll are feeling as good as I am today.

Thanksgiving in the VA mountains....

Not much better than that, "John Boy" - enjoy - I'll be on Lake Anna - near Richmond.

Morning sunshine

and everyone else. The light snow from yesterday is starting to finally melt this morning. I can tell it's Monday. My desk is full of paperwork that was done wrong over the weekend and I have to fix.

Thanksgiving week- this afternoon I'll be taking a flight out to the midwest. I'll spend tonight and tomorrow there then fly back on wednesday just in time to see my sons basketball game. Thursday I'll spend at my mom's house for some good homecooking, better conversations that I'll have all week long and just loving being part of a wonderful family. Then back to work on Friday, arghhh.

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving just encase I'm not on to tell all of you.

John Boy

LMAO,,,

Yeppers, that is quite often the mental picture that folks seem to get of me,,, not me at all though,,, but it is a good image to have, as I can identify with that lifestyle.

Lake Anna,,, gawd, I haven't been in that part of the country for awhile now,,, Enjoy your visit Sparky

WE want to sneak a visit to Colonial Williamsburg this year for the lighting of the yule log or just to see the old style decorations

Sounds like a great Thanksgiving, CW. We will do the family thing with my sweeties family, we were with my family last year. One of our nephews will be home from college for the weekend, can hardly wait to see him, he is one of my favorite people. Living down here, we don't have many trees so not too much raking going on, but I do love to jump in the leaves when I get a chance. As much as I love Texas, would love to have a year with real seasons. Have a great time!

Good Mornin' CW...

I would be a "10" on the Ol' Spark-O-Meter....if I'd have gotten some sleep...but...I guess we'll put me down for an 8.

Sounds like y'all are going to have fun for Thanksgiving...sorry pandora that you have to go to work on Friday :(

I will be celebrating Thanksgiving in Eastern Washington at my moms. Then I will need to return and drink nothing but water for a week to hold back the results of all the food! LOL!

CW...Colonial Williamsburg that sounds fun! One of these days I'd love to see that myself! There are so many things I would like to see but...relax I won't bore you guys with it!

Well, gotta run and get ready for work! Have a great day!

teresafannin,,,

I understand about the lack of seasons all too well.

I was stationed near Phoenix for three years while I was in the air force,,, no seasons there either, except hot and dry and not so hot and dry.

I used to watch the news for reports of snow in Flagstaff or the rim country,,, and I'd punch out a leave request for a week,,, pack up and head off to see the 'seasons',,,

I hope that YOU enjoy the day as well.

I spent the first 12 years of my life in South Dakota and even after 30 years in Texas, I still miss the seasons. One of the big events here is down in Galveston. Dickens on the Strand is a big victorian Christmas festival. We keep saying we are going to try to sneak down there, but working retail, I don't get too much time off. I need to win the lottey-lol.
