The conservative Austrian People's Party (OVP), which has been moving toward a more nationalist and populist position under its vibrant young leader Sebastian Kurtz, won a smashing victory in last week's election. Now, it appears the party will invite the even farther right Freedom Party (FPO), which itself had a massive increase in support, to join it in a coalition government. The FPO is the controversial nationalist party formerly run by Jorg Haidar.

One of Kurtz first actions as leader was to ban George Soros linked organizations from involvement in Austrian politics.
