USA : Samuel Adams, Pete's Wicked Ale
Europe : Guiness, Franziskainer Weissbier Dunkles
Asia : Saigon, Khujurao

any other suggestions from beer lovers?

i'm hoping you wont suggest bud, kronenbourg, heineken, fosters or sapporo. all popular brands but poor quality.

thanks where are they from?

I guess Amstel Light and Corona are brewed in US.
What about the others suggested by Never and Creamy Lady?

lets say a bit more about the beers especially if the brands are not popular globally.

Sam Adams and Pete's ... are dark, Amstel Light and Corona are light. I've heard several people extolling the virtues of Corona when had with lemon. Khajurao is rich and strong in alcohol content. What good things can you say of the other suggestions? I have never heard any of the brands mentioned by Creamy Lady and Never. Are these Irish/Aussie?

How do you folks like Kilian's Red? Tasman bitter?

Mine is an American Northwestern drink.
I don't drink beer, how would I know if it's light or dark? What's the difference? The bottles are always brown..

Pale Ale from the California Sierra Nevada Mtns.

had that at my cousin's house tuesday.......shes so hot even at 37

Bass from the UK is great..but the BEST, are from the micro breweries all over the states..Rhino-Chasers taste like Killians Red, but better...LeinenKuggels (Spellcheck on that)is also wonderful..although its very hard to find..but if you want to try one of the finest lagers out there...nothing beats an ice cold bottle of J.W.Dundee's Honey Brown..if you havent tried it yet...go to your closest distributor and get some...you will not be disappointed...Happy drinking folks!!

Tuborg Classic & Carlsbergs' Carl's Special from Denmark.
Worthingtons: UK
Singha: Thailand
Heiniken: Holland
About a million different: Germany.

Newcastle Brown...? Is that Australian? I've heard of it, and it's great from what I hear, but I've never tried it. It might be from Newcastle in Australia.

Some other great beers are

Mooshead (Canada)
Coopers (Adelaide, Australia)
Crown (Australia)
Cascade (Tasmania, Australia)

Hahn Premium is nice, but not to my taste.

For those of you who think Aussie beers are all like Fosters, start with a little Crown next time you're out and you'll see what beer SHOULD taste like. :)

"Incest is Bad, M'Kay."

Keiths India Pale Ale - Canada

Newcastle Brown - England

Sol- Mexico

Presidente - Dominican Republic (the bastard child of Moosehead and Corona)

Sam Adams Summer Ale- US

But almost anything other than Guiness will do in a pinch:)

Hoegaarden: Germany (I think)
Fuller's London Pride: UK
Yankee Rooster: UK
Guinness
Hopback Brewery beers (summer lightning etc...):UK

I can't believe people are listing Newcastle Brown. Here we regard it as worse than Fosters. Notoriously bad for the morning after.

For my buddy B33RB3LLY (yes, I know you have rock hard abs)

Japan - Yebisu (good malt lager or whatever is called)
US - Rolling Rock :)~P no comments from the peanut gallery)
Mexico - Corona!!! (there IS no other beer)
S. Korea - OB Mekju (yeeeeeahhhh....)
China - Tsing Tao (beer isn't their biggest export you know)
Canada - Moosepiss ooops, I mean Moosehead

wow!

Wow!

Thats a tremendous response. I guess i will have to compile this mixed set of responses and put it all in one list sometime this weekend. Please keep "pouring in" your favourite beers my friends, the mug never overflows if you keep sharing it ...

cheers!!

While in Germnay the best ones to me that I tried were Wastiener, Grolsh, Gearge Killian's Red, Guinnes, and Axe. Though Germany has plenty of good beer, those were about my favorite.

I tried Tsing Tao at a casino when I worked at Bally's and liked it as well.

Now Samual Adams,Michelobe's Blak & Tan, along with Jack Daniel's Amber Lager is good, but nothing beats good ole Budwieser, :) And if you want a real treat try Pale Ale, Maple Port, Ale, Bohemia Pilsner and Summer Brew which are all from Wicked. And lastly Rhino Chasers is all right in itself as well.

Grolsch - Holland
Bohemia and Presidente - Dominican Republic
youngers I.P.A - U.K (don't know if this is still brewed)
Holstein pils - Germany
EKU 28 - Germany (fucking lethal stuff)
Carlsberg special brew - Denmark (bad head next day stuff)
Any trapist beers - Belgium i think made by monks and all different flavour's.

One other beer, Hide Park Perminator!!! Drank three of them one night andwas so damn drunk I am still wondering how I got back to the barracks, undressed and in my bed. Taht was the most powerful beer I had in Germany.

Generic beer Beer, $2.99 a rack!...

But seriously, the problem in the United States is that the beer is not the same thing that it is in its' native land. Torborg here is nasty. But Jagermeister isn't the same, either, that it is in Europe (and I know that it isn't beer). My preference here, is the many fine microbrews that knock me on my ass. Redhook is now Anheiser-Busch, but still a pretty good fuckin' beer.

nice guy...

Have you ever tried Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat? I can't find it anymore. I used to get it in Milwaukee all the time. Long live LinenKugels! (sp)?

That would be Leinenkugel's. As in Honey Weiss, a personal favorite.

no i havent, but would love to if you think its good stuff.

any more micro brewery fans come out of the closet and tell us more of the treasures youve been enjoying in secret

by the way someone recommended Bass from UK so i tried it. Sorry to say it wasnt as great as some other recommendations. Nor am i fond of heineken or tsing tao that some people mentioned and are very popular in NYC. But some other suggestions have been very appealing, especially some american brands i hadnt known before. Perhaps i am just biased more towards dark beers than pale/light stuff. Well,

Beauty is in the eye of the be(er)holder i guess ... :)
