How many of you play golf because you think you need to play it to get ahead in the business world?

I've had this conversation many times. Usually with someone who is trying to convince me my career will come to a dead stop if I don't learn to play golf. I say forget it.

It doesn't matter how well you play on the four as how well you foreplay...
Meaning.. nothing I guess.
But I agree with you.

golf

often referred to as a good walk spoiled. i love it, have played for 30 years. yes many business contacts are made and deals closed on the links. just never beat the client to bad.lol:cool:

But would your career dead end if you never played golf again? I don't think so. No matter what you do for a living.

You could always take him to a nudie bar!

FORE!!! LOL

i have played golf for a few years now. i dont do it to advance in the business world although i did join the plant association golf 2 yrs ago for something to do.

i go for the relaxing and quiet times. it gets me away from the hassles of life for a while.
i got a new bag, balls and gloves for xmas but have not been out at all this year due to golfers elbow and tennis elbow. :(

I play golf for FUN. Not business. I do not nor will I play with people that I do business with. This is just simply because I suck at it and do not take it seriously. I play for fun. I like to see how MANY shots it takes me to get my head screwed on to play. See I take shots while taking shots at hitting the darn ball. If I didn't then it might make my head explode since I cannot hit that darn little white ball.........into a cup many hundreds of yards away. :D

I say play for fun if you like, but to advance your business career. No way........someone reads far too much into it. Sure you can talk business at the course but advance your career, don't think so.

I've closed many a deal at the windmill on the 4th green at Putt-Putt.

But those had nothing to do with either business or golf! ;)
