I'm going to Las Vegas to visit a friend in June

Is there anywhere unusual I should visit? anything you'd recommend?

The Grand Canyon?

Other than that, let me advise you...Las Vegas is far more appealing at night. During the day...well, let's just say it's like that beautiful girl you saw while drunk at the bar last night; the one who lured you to her hotel room. Gazing at her in the bright, light of morning you might well be wondering what you were thinking ;)

Grande Canyon is a 5 hour drive. Just a warning.

Don't bring any more money for gambling than you are willing to lose.

Don't try to dig yourself out of the hole. I never works.

Better yet, don't gamble ;)

I've never been to Vegas, so I really wouldn't know what's going on over there.

Is the anything unusual?

IS THERE ANYTHING UNUSUAL????

Seriously, forget the dam. Get in a cab and tell the cabbie to show you around. If it's weirdness you want, you won't be disappointed. It's the weirdest place in the United States.

Really - You can ride in fake Gondolas through an ersatz Venice in Belagio, take a full-sized roller-coaster ride through a mock-up of the New York City sky-line in New York, NY, watch full-sized pirate ships battle it out with real canons at whatever the name of that one place is, ride an indoor roller coaster at the Luxor, dine in a rain forest at the Rio - you name it, they have it. The whole place is an over elaborate Hollywood-style benzedrine-fueled hallucination. It's literally too much.

Plus, all the casinos have lavish, unbelievable all-you-can-eat buffets for like $5.00 just to keep you there and keep you gambling.

Go for 3-4 days and leave before the exhaustion and reality sink in and it's fantastic

Take comfortable walking shoes. LV blocks are about a mile long.

Valley of Fire - about 40 miles north on I-15, the petroglyphs are amazing.
The Liberace Museum...
Red Rock Canyon...

LeRuse wanted me to post this:

"You've heard the song, 'Girls get prettier at closing time'...? Well, Vegas never closes. It's Maxfactor!"
