The first round wasn't good enough... THE SECOND ROUND WILL MAKE IT ALLLLLLL BETTER!!!!!

And where do I find this out? Not from the American news media? OH FUCK NO! No, we only have to keep reporting that 86% of Americans polled like the war, so you had better too. (P.S. Don't ask anyone to back that "fact" up, just believe it so we can go to war, KTHX!)

Anyways, they can't let us know about something like this because that's not as profitable as a war. They also won't let us know that The US is threatening Germany with the ultimatum "Either go in on the war, or we will not allow your companies to do business in the US" (The two largest German companies are Daimler-Chryslter and Siemens. So I hope you don't want a dodge pickup or to be hooked up to a lifesaving breathing machine anytime soon) With all the Iraq craze we get to miss out on such goodies as the US announcing that we're gonna send 20K troops overseas to N. Korea- N. Korea's response.... "Do it, and we will use our Nuclear weapons and destroy the penninsula and start a full scale war." At last check, the US still plans on sending in the troops. Whoo-hoo!

Never Forget.

Spin, here's an article about the American media's sheep-like willingness to support the White House and be very creative with the facts.

Article from The Guardian

For a well-balanced view of world affairs it is a must to read a broad variety of papers online and make up your own mind. You can't seem to trust the American media to report the facts anymore.

Rampant patriotism is the new secular religion and it clouds the news.

God.

I remember when we'd laugh at the British media, how they'd run wild with stories about mad cow when there was only one questionable case.

Now I have to look to the Economist and the Guardian and such things to avoid getting the stories "ALUMNINUM RODS! SEND TROOPS TO DIE FOR ALUMINUM RODS THAT AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR A REACTOR, BUT DIE ANYWAY! LOL!" and "WE HAVE TO AVENGE THE KURDS! EVEN THOSE OUR HELLICOPTERS WERE CIRCLING IN THE AIR WHILE THE KILLINGS WERE TAKING PLACE, WE HAVE TO AVENGE THEM TEN YEARS AFTER THE fACT" and then followed up with the scared little blonde reporter who has to go out and then not only tell us how to buy a good gas mask, but model the various styles, too. "This one will protect you from Mustard Gas, and it can be modified for two kinds of canisters!"

Of course, They also told us that the Patriot Missle System worked "almost all of the time", back in the day.
