Global Warming My Ass!

Send Al Gore the bill for heating your ass.

We've had the 16's for the last two days. It's a whopping 25 this morning.

If your ass is 16 degrees, I suggest you call a doctor. Or go sit on a geyser.

I live in a temperate maritime climate.

It doesn't feel or look like it today - but that's weather for you, whether I like it or not.

Its 16 degrees at the moment....540AM.

At 0500 this morning it was a lovely 31°F with a humidity of 90%. (I'm a bit further south than you. West Palm.) Going out to the car was a bit on the brutal side as the winds were blowing nicely at between 15-20 MPH. It felt like living in New England.

Cat

Its 21 degrees here.

Trysail? Who in hell convinced you climate isnt weather? Whoever it is is a dum fuck.

Hi JBJ. You up stoking the fire?

Its necessary work and someone has to do it. On a tolerant, accepting site like this it takes about 4 hours before someone drags out their Tarot cards, Bible, or Das Kapital as proof for much of what happens. Within a day our crew of pseudo scientists already connect beer farts to the Big Bang of antiquity. Someone has to keep it straight.

C'mon, you know what I'm talking about. Climate is multiple decades of weather.

Over the long run, the stock market ( as measured by the S&P 500 ) has produced a total return ( dividends and price appreciation before taxes and transaction costs ) of roughly 8-9% per annum. That's the past; it may not be the future. On October 19, 1987 the S&P 500 fell roughly 22% in a single day ( thanks to the noisemakers, people remember that day though they fail to remember that for the full year of 1987, the S&P ROSE 5.2%! )

Similarly, there have been winters which turned out to be cold even though December was warm.

The short run is noise; it's the long run that matters.

Heehee I knew what you meant, but the way you express the idea is like CASH HAS NUTHIN TO DO WITH THE ECONOMY.

Climate is a stoichastic system (water flowing down a drain) and confines itself within the parameters of the system. Normally water doesnt flow UP the drain, but it happens, but there is a confidence level that water will go DOWN the drain almost all the time, all things remaining the same. If the plumber makes a repair, and repairs like me, the water may go anywhere and all bets are off! But shit does happen; its why God created insurance companies.

No, JBJ. I meant that literally. Were you up at 2:30 in the morning putting wood on the fire? LOL I heard it's been very cold in Florida and was wondering if the cold woke you up? I'm not smart enough for that other comment. Gees!
