I can understand where she's coming from.

More than half the personals seem focused on teasing with the promise of chat or meets, then nothing ever seems to come of them. People don't even get responses to PM's that were publicly requested, or they're made to feel like idiots for thinking those were real invitations.

There are lots of people here, so many that it seems difficult to see one who has a mutual interest in (the hypothetical) you for the crowds.

So yeah, I can grok that.

you just have to chat with people openly enough that you can find some sort of emotional, or at least conversational connection with them. most people don't really allow anything to develop to a stage where any of that can really happen
