I'm looking for the story where the girlfriend has picked out the engagement ring she wants and will pay for, but he gives her a ring with the huge gem (diamond?) he was given as a bonus for tutoring a young girl. -- A little more info: she's got money and is in control of the relationship--she has never been faithful--but he tries to act independently and surprises her with the ring and a proposal in a public setting at a restaurant and falls into her clutches.
