How long does a tube of lipstick last? About how many different tubes do you own at any given time?

Also: What do you call the stuff you put on your cheeks to make them look pink. It's not rouge anymore, is it. Is it blush?

And I know what eyeliner is, and mascara, but what about that stuff you put on your eyelids? Is that the same as the stuff you put over your eyes too?

And: do women even carry purses anymore? It occurs to me that I haven't seen many of them these days.

Need the info for a story. Yeah, that's it! It's for a story.

Just depends on how often you use it. I usually have at least seven or eight different colors, at least.

Yep, blush.

Eye shadow....but not sure what the last question is referring to

Not sure about anyone else, but I do.....it goes everywhere I do, and the weight of it on my shoulder is almost comforting, I'm so used to it. I have things I have to have with me, you know. ;)

I don't know how long a tube of lipstick lasts because I don't wear make up often enough to run out. I have about 10 different shades.

Yes, the stuff I put on my cheeks is called blush (or blusher).

The stuff on top of eye lids is eye shadow. Under the lashes is eyeliner.

And yes, women still carry purses.

I can't help ya with makeup, Doc, but I have to know - Where would stuff go over the eyes if not on the lids?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about where eyeliner goes.
But he knows eyeliner & mascara...

It really is honest curiosity. I don't recall the last time I wore make up. For all I know, there could be all sorts of new crap out there. :D

You know, I saw the part where he said mascara but for some reason, I missed entirely the part about eyeliner, lol.

It goes below your eyebrows and above your eyelids.

On Diana Ross it used to be this weird banana-yellow color.

Okay, so no one can tell me how long lipstick lasts. But give me a ballpark here: a week, a month, a year, five years? Say you have to use it every day for work. Or 5 days a week, anyhow.

I was trying to figure it out based on Chapstick, but I don't use chapstick anymore, and when I did, I'd either lose it before I used it up, or I'd lose the cap and it would get all fuzzy.

I may not be an expet, but I used to sell Mary Kay so I will answer from that source. :D

How long does a tube of lipstick last? About how many different tubes do you own at any given time? It really shouldn't be kept any longer than six months. Most women don't follow that rule though. I have two lipsticks and one isn't really lipstick it is a lip conditioner (like lotion for lips.)

Also: What do you call the stuff you put on your cheeks to make them look pink. It's not rouge anymore, is it. Is it blush?Blush, and also rouge. Depends on who you ask.

And I know what eyeliner is, and mascara, but what about that stuff you put on your eyelids? On my eyes I use liquid liner because the color is richer and it is easier to control. Then I use a black lengthening and thinckeng mascara. But BEFORE the liner and mascara, I put on my eyeshadow. I cover the lid with a light shade and then in the crease and on the outer edge of the lid I use a darker shade. Then I use a blending brush to smooth the edges where the two colors meet. On occassion (esp if the eyebrows havn't been waxed recently) I will use a brow pencil. just to define the shape of my eyebrow.
And: do women even carry purses anymore? It occurs to me that I haven't seen many of them these days. Women carry purses, but most of the time (when they are getting made up anyway) they use it to carry the essentials ie: lipstick/gloss, cell phone, id's, credit cards/cash, and a tampon or pad. (just in case)

Eye shadow. And you can use it below the eyes right up against the lash line, too. I do it if I'm using a funky color or really trying to go for the smoky-eyed look. And I carry a purse, too. I have lots of purses.

Talking to O here, make-up artist so 3 - 4 months for mascara and they may have two kinds. Chicks dont own as many as we do, so 1 - 2 Blush or contour or bronzers a season. Eye lids are powder or cream, MAYBE liner for a chick in teens or 40's depending.

Girls want to accentuate and add tons of colour, but older women want softer lines.

IF YOU WANT make up. O is an artist, so what are you seeking DOC? Era? NOW?

On the lipstick thing - I have never in my life used up a tube of lipstick. It gets tossed, lost, or forgotten about in favor of a new shade at some point during its life. I probably have about 20 tubes, all free with purchase from Clinique.

Purses, yes, absolutely. Don't leave home without 'em. Pack at least five on vacation, to go with the shoes and outfits.

I know I said I don't sell it anymore. I use clinique, mac, and Bare essentials now. (but my fave lip stick is AVON!!!!) lol What I love about bare essentials is that it is all powder. its light and very very natural. it also doesn't make me break out like a fourteen year old boy.

So what's best foundation makeup for covering scars that doesn't look like it's thickly caked on and doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Crim I shit you not, Bare esentials is awesome. I have acne scars and a few from my dad that I cover with make up and you can adjust the shade to almost exact with it b/c just the start up set contains a few colors and it is super simple and very quick. Worth every dime.

Just because it is expensive does not make it perfect., HOWEVER :catroar: for contours Laura Mercier, for lines NARS, for shadow MAC, for concelaer Visora, and Lancome for mascara - it is all better than bonne bell :D

I absolutely LOVE Lancome's Dual Finish makeup....sort of pricey, but worth every damn penny.

I've never heard of it. What kind of store carries it? Keep in mind, I live in a backwater cowtown.

Scotts and Complexions but we are not in the US, concealer is Lancome best, and cover girl best cheap, and mad by same company which is L'Oreal ;)
