OOC: This is closed thread between myself and Pywakit involving the characters Gippal and Rikku from FFX-2. It's set a year after the events in that game (So Rikku can be 18 :)). Feel free to lurk, but no posting. :D

IC

Gippal wandered about the bustling city of Luca, rather aimlessly actually. He was still quite a celebrity, having founded the Machine Faction, and as such was almost constantly approached by people. However, he also had an excellent sense of humor, and took it all with good nature, rather than being fed up with it.

He sometimes, however, wished people wouldn't always approach him, but there was absolutely no chance of that. Who else in Spira had an eyepatch, after all?

There was a huge blitzball tournament coming up, and he'd come to watch. He would, of course, be cheering on the Al Bhed Fangs. There was something he enjoyed about blitzball, the way it was the same even over the past five years. Nothing had changed about Blitzball, even if the rest of the world and the people in it had.

Speaking of other people... Gippal did a double take, thinking he'd just seen no less than Rikku in the crowd. He looked around, but didn't see her. Man, he thought, was she a looker these days! They'd had a little romance when they were younger, but now Rikku had grown into a real young woman, something to be desired.

Rikku

Rikku waited for a few seconds, then peeked out from behind the stack of crates she'd ducked behind. Yup; it was him all right. No mistaking the eye-patch, for one.

Rikku grinned. Things had been actually slow, almost boring since she, Yuna, and Paine had finished their last adventure, nearly a year ago now. But whereas the others seemed to be content with settling down, Rikku still couldn't deny the wanderlust that burned in her heart. There was still so much to see! And so, a few months ago, she'd told her friends that she was heading north to do a little solo sphere hunting, and that was that.

And now, here she was in Luca. And so was Gippal. Rikku couldn't believe she'd run into him in the crowd; the chances were one in a million, really. She hadn't seen him for nearly a year, and as she watched him wander aimlessly, trying to blend in to the crowd but failing miserably. He'd glanced her way not a moment before, and Rikku had ducked behind these crates rather than be spotted. Now, her heart was pounding in her chest and her hands were tingly and sweaty. She was a little frustrated with herself for getting so hot and bothered over just seeing him... but he was awfully cute. She closed her eyes for a moment and imaginged him sweeping her up in his arms. She wondered if he even still remembered her...

He was moving off toward a long row of vendors now. Rikku smiled and jumped up on the crates, then swung up head over heels onto the roof of a low building. Up here, she'd be able to keep an eye on him easy, and unless he looked up, he wouldn't even see her. What was he doing in Luca? Was he here with someone? Was he here to meet someone? Rikku's smile broadened as she skittered up behind a large sign and watched him as he fought his way through the crowd below.

Gippal

"Yes, yes." He said, trying to smile at some young man, "It's really me, yes, Gippal. What's that? You're a member of the Youth League? Well, that's good. Yes, I'm sure. You think the Machine Faction is lame? I'm glad of your opinion, kiddo, now please, move."

Gippal shoved the kid slightly. What an insolent little bastard, he thought, as he watched the kid laughing with his friends.

Suddenly a Blitzball player rushed up to him, and once again began the dialogue.

"Yes, yes, I'm here for the tournament, of course. Besaid Aurochs, huh? I hear you're having a come back? Used to be one of the worst teams. No, sorry, I'm supporting the Al Bhed Fangs. Why? I'm Al Bhed!"

He shook the kids, hand then pushed on, now intent on only reaching his room and escaping this throng.

Rikku

Rikku giggled as she watched Gippal fend off one group after another. She couldn't hear what he was saying but she could tell by his body language he was tired and impatient, yet he was obviously doing his best to keep his cool.

She continued following his course, having to leap across some alleys from building to building in places. At first, she'd assumed he was heading toward the arena, but now it was obvious he was going elsewhere. She scampered ahead of him, hiding behind a large creepy gargoyle on a tall building with an amazing view of the ocean, and suddenly realized he was walking toward her!

She gasped and froze. Had he seen her? She wasn't quite ready for a conversation with him yet... she wanted to be sure he was in a good mood and wanted to talk first. After a few moments, she relaxed. He was just making his way toward the building whose roof she now hid atop. In her haste to get ahead of him, she'd not noticed what kind of building this was. It looked like an inn... maybe he was meeting someone here? Rikku flattend against the roof and crept to the edge and watched as he approached the building's main entrance.

Gippal

Gippal finally fended the last of them off as he made his way into the expensive inn at which he was staying.

He rolled his eyes slightly, and stretched languidly. None of them could follow in here, he thought, thankfully. He was staying at a very elite inn, where only important people could gain entrance. There was one in almost every city, and Gippal was well known. He had good character, but sometimes needed respite.

He wandered over to a couch, and slumped down on it. He figured he'd rest here for a while, but after that, he had no idea.

Rikku

Rikku watched as Gippal entered the building. She bit her lip to force herself to wait for a bit, then slid down the side of the roof to the gutter, lowered her lithe body over the edge, and then gracefully dropped into the alley below. She stood and brushed as much of the dirt she'd gathered from the roofs off, hooked some errant braids back over her ears and head, and then walked around the corner.

And was promptly met by a hulking guard.

"Oh! Hi there!" she said in a singsong voice, waving with her fingers. She flashed her most dazzling smile at the guard and tried to walk nonchalantly by, but he was having none of it.

"Hang on there, kid. No one gets into the Wild Chimera without paying for rooms."

"Don't you recognize who I am?" Rikku asked.

The guard peered at her through his visor, then shook his head.

"I'm one of the Gullwings! You've heard of them, right? Lady Yuna's my cousin!"

The guard just shrugged. "I never go to those silly concerts. And anyway, you could be Yuna herself for all I care; no room? No entry!"

"Ummm... but I have paid for a room!"

"Oh yeah? Well, where's your key?"

Rikku's grin faltered a bit. She made a show of checking her bags and pouches, and wonder of wonders, actually found a key. It was an oversized red crystal key, a key she'd found long ago and never found out what it opened, but it was still a key.

She held it up for the guard to inspect, a hopeful grin on her cheeks and her eyes narrowed a bit in hope.

The guard gave it one look, grunted, and rolled his eyes.

"Not even close, huh?" she asked him.

"Nope. Nice try though," the guard answered. "Now get lost!"

Rikku's lip pouted but she did as ordered. No need to rile up a bunch of guards when there were plenty of other ways into the inn. She let herself be swallowed by the crowd, and once she was sure the guard had lost sight of her she slipped into the alley nearby and began casing the inn, looking for a window or back door that someone had left ajar...

Gippal

After lingering about the common room until it became exceedingly boring for him, he decided to head over to his room. Perhaps he would take a bath before the evening's festivities. It was, after all, the opening night of the tournament.

Standing, and again stretching like a cat, he made his way slowly to his room. It was up one story, and far down the line. Unlocking his door, he walked inside the spacious suite, then closed it after him. He shot a disgusted look out the window.

You would think, he thought, that being one of the most famous people in Spira would merit me a better view than a dirty, deserted alley. Well, you can't have everything. His glance fixed on the boxes stacked up beneath it, and he considered pushing them away, as someone could easily climb inside, but decided he was being foolish. For someone who never bothered to lock windows, why would that bother him?

He tossed his back down on the couch, then made his way over to the bathroom. Leaving the door open, he carefully stripped off his outfit, and after a few minutes was inside the heavily soapy water, sighing contently.

Rikku

Rikku prowled up and down the alleyway, checking windows and doors and trying to decide which one to use to enter the building. All the ground floor windows opened into busy rooms, a kitchen, the common room, a game room... no empty rooms into which she could quietly infiltrate the place. And so she turned her attention to the windows on the upper floor.

And that was when she saw Gippal looking out of a dirty window directly above her. She froze, wondering if he'd seen her, but he seemed to be looking further down the alley, and in a moment he stepped away from the window. She exhaled, then noticed the handy stack of empty crates and boxes stacked below his window. She giggled.

"Oh man, this is too easy..."

In moments, she was on top of the pile of boxes, quietly testing the window. He'd left it unlocked! She slowly slid it open, and then quietly slid through the narrow window, landing softly on the thickly carpeted floor. After closing the window behind her, she looked around the room, noticing three doors. The one opposite obviously led to the hall. The one to her right was open, and she could see a bedroom beyond. But it was the one to her left that caught her attention. It was closed, but she could hear noises behind it... the sound of water splashing and soft humming.

On tiptoes, Rikku crept over to the door and peered through the keyhole into the bathroom. She could just see half the large washtub, and Gippal lounging inside of it. She smiled and a flush rose in her cheeks as she watched him, admiring how the soap ran off his strong shoulders and wishing she had a better view.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Rikku jumped to her feet, hitting her shoulder against the bathroom door's handle. She nearly yelled out in suprise but clamped her hands over her mouth instead. She glanced about he room for a hiding spot and saw none. The window was high up on the wall and it would take too long to squeze back out of it. She heard Gippal muttering in the bathroom and the sound of him climbing out of the tub, and made her choice. She sprinted quietly across the room, into the bedroom, and saw a closet door hanging ajar nearby. She stepped inside, hiding behind one of his jackets that hung from a hook, and held her breath while she listened.

Gippal

Gippal was really starting to enjoy his bath by now. It was utterly relaxing, and he was quite glad of the respite from prying people. He was, of course, oblivious to the fact that Rikku had broken into his room.

Then came the knock at the door. Muttering various curses, Gippal rose from the bathtub, and wrapped a towel around his waist. Making his way to the door, opened it scowling.

At the door was a very giggly girl, a little younger than himself. She positively squeeled when she saw him in only a towel.

"Is it really you?!" She gasped.

Gippal was simply amazed, and in his burst of annoyance shouted "Fryd dra ramm yna oui tuehk? Kad uid uv rana!" reverting to Al Bhed. Catching himself, he roared, "Get out of here before I personally throw you out my window!"

The girl squeeled and sprinted off, and Gippal slammed the door. Then however, he broke up laughing. "Did that really just happen?" He asked aloud.

He headed back to the bathroom, but then wasn't sure if he wanted to get back into the warm water. Gippal stood indecisively, not doing anything.

Rikku

Rikku listened quetly as Gippal answered the door. When he screamed out in Al Bhed, she nearly burst out in laughter. Squirming and clamping her hands over her mouth, she tried to force the laughter back but she could tell it was a losing battle. She bit at her lip to hold the explosion of laughter back, but when she heard him say "Did that really just happen?" and start laughing himself, she couldn't contain herself any longer.

All that came out was a strangled little snort. The snort seemed incredibly loud, though, loud enough to shock her back into silence. She pressed herself into the back corner of the closet, still covering her mouth against the laughter, hoping that Gippal hadn't heard...

Gippal

And it seemed Gippal did not hear, luckily for Rikku. While she held her breath in bated still silence, nothing seemed to happen. He seemed, in fact, to be not doing anything at all.

That is, until he pulled the door to the closet, reached in, grabbed her by her slender shoulder, and pulled her out.

"What the hell are you -" He shouted, then stopped abruptly when he saw that it was the little blonde Gullwing.

"Ri - Rikku?" He stammered. "What the hell are you doing in my closet?"

This was one weird day.

Rikku

Rikku squeeked as she felt Gippal's hand close on her shoulder and drag her out of the closet. She looked up at him with wide eyes and a funny little half-smile on her face, her cheeks flushed and her lower lip shaking. All she could think of to say was:

"Is it really you?" Just like the unseen girl at the door. And with that, Rikku went limp with laughter, tears of mirth streaming from her eyes.

Gippal

If it was any other person, Gippal would have been torn between attacking them, or chucking them out. As it was, he was about to give Rikku a stern telling off, but his eyes trailed over her form first.

God damn did she look good in that, he thought. Quite the change from their younger days. She was more naked than not, wearing just a bikini top and that short skirt, with her thong straps so glaringly obvious. His eyes narrowed, and he looked back up at her.

The situation, he decided after a moment, was rather amusing, so he smiled ruefully and said. "Yes, it's really me. And if it isn't Cid's girl, hiding out in my closet. I suppose you were spying on me naked too? Wanted me back after all these years?" He grinned then.

Rikku

Rikku managed to catch her breath, then twisted her shoulder and managed to squirm out of Gippal's grasp, although in so doing she lost her balance and staggerd back. She would have fallen, were it not for the bed behind her. As it was, she simply sat down on its edge with a thump. She smiled at him again, then looked around the room as if trying to decide if it was worth making a break for it. This certainly wasn't how she had planned on re-introducing herself... but ultimately, she was here. The damage had been done. She realized he was nearly naked then, standing before her wrapped in a single towell. Her eyes widened a bit at the sight; he'd certainly lost none of his looks over the year. If anything, he looked hotter than ever! She tore her gaze away from him, hoping he hadn't noticed her oggling him, and glanced back at the open closet.

"Ummm... Well... it turns out that I've been hired to, ummm, investigate the closet space in Luca's inns. There's rumors going around that some of the inns are horribly small, and that by reducing closet space, unscrupulous innkeepers can add more rooms to rent and then you're not buying this story at all are you?"

He didn't answer.

"And no! I wasn't spying on you naked! At least... not on purpose... I just, uh... hmmm." She looked around the room again, then back at Gippal, again trying not to ogle his nearly naked body. "So! How ya been?"

Gippal

Gippal briefly toyed with the idea of dropping his towel and making a move on her, but he was quite sure she'd be insulted and upset by that, she he chucked the idea out. He watched her various ramblings with a cocked brow and amused grin.

It was quite obvious she was checking him out, and that pleased him somewhat. Rikku had always been such a cute girl.

"Well," He said, "I've been pretty good, except for the multitudes of people trying to bother me." He winked slightly, and then said, "And what have you been up to? Are you here for the tournament, or have you been trying to watch me the entire time? Just can't resist me, can you?"

He did love to tease her so.

Rikku

Rikku snorted. "As if! As if I came all the way out here from Besaid just to stalk you so I could hide in your closet! Don't you think I've got better ways to spend my time? Uhh.. Cause I do!" She stood up and walked over to the closet door and shut it.

"And if you must know... I'm just passing through town on my way to the Mi'ihen Highroad. There's a lot of world still out there to see, you know, and it won't come to me so I'm going to it! So that's why I'm here. In your closet. See?"

She grinned at him again, nodding her head, hoping he bought it but knowing he wouldn't.

Gippal

Gippal rolled his eyes slightly. "Well I'm in town for the blitzball tournament. I'm still quite popular, you know." He said with a wink.

"So," he continued, "You have a few options for what we can do. My bath has been interupted, so I'm sure you'd be eager to join me in that. Or, I could change into normal clothes and we could go to the tournament. Of course, I'm assuming you'd want to stay and watch that. The third option for you would be to go on to the Highroad, since I'm sure you have pressing business there." He burst out laughing at this ridiculous set of options, and waited for her equally humorous response.

Rikku

Rikku sighed in mock exasperation. "Welllll... it turns out I don't actually have to take off to the Highroad any time soon. And as much as I'm sure you'd love to take a bath with me... I think I'll pass. That tub looked way too small for two, and the water's probably all cold..." She paused, her eyes widening a bit as she realized she had all but admitted she'd been watching him in the tub.

"But blitzball sounds pretty fun!" she said quickly, trying to cover up. "I haven't seen a good blitzball game in years. When's the next game starting. Do you have a schedule handy? Oh! You should probably get dressed, I guess... I'll just be waiting out here for you..." she said as she tried to squirm by him and out into the main room.

Gippal

As she attempted to move past him, Gippal realized all too late the effect she'd had on his member, and he quickly pulled away, allowing her to pass, hoping she hadn't felt his erection as she skirted past him.

He did smile slightly, as now he knew she'd been watching him. The thought, however, didn't bother him much, in fact, it didn't bother him at all.

After she exitted, he removed the towel, and put back on his usual clothes. A few moments later he came back out. "Alright, shall we go to the stadium? It's to start soon."

Rikku

Out in the main room, Rikku threw herself down on the couch and screamed into the cushions in excitement. The sound was muffled and quiet, but it nevertheless allowed her to get control over herself again. She still felt flushed; there was no denying that Gippal's body had that effect on her. And she couldn't be sure, but it had certainly looked like there was something going on under his towel... something to indicate he did remember her, after all.

Rikku spent the next few minutes forcing herself to calm down, to breathe, and to wait. Before long, Gippal came out of the bedroom, dressed in familiar clothes but not looking any less hot.

"Alright, shall we go to the stadium? It's to start soon," he said as he reached for the door. Rikku jumped up from the couch.

"Sounds good to me, Gippal! Let's move out!"

Rikku took the lead, practically skipping as she headed down the stairs at the end of the hall. As she pranced through the common room and out onto the porch, the guard noticed her and seemed about to say something when he noticed Gippal following her. Rikku winked at the guard and said, "Have a nice day, handsome, and keep doing a bang-up job keeping the riff-raff out of the building!"

Gippal

Gippal watched the exchange between Rikku and the guard with a cocked brow. He guessed, however, that she'd had some kind of scuffle with him trying to get inside. And spy on me, he thought.

As the guard seemed about to turn and say something to Rikku, Gippal patted his shoulder. "Don't sweat it buddy, she's with me."

He allowed himself to lag a bit, simply to admire her beautiful ass. He didn't remember her being this sexy, the way she swung her hips, the way that skirt that was more like a belt barely covered her ass.

He caught up to her, saying, "I see you've made plenty of friends."

Rikku

"Huh?" she said, then glanced back at the guard. "Oh, him!" She waved her fingers at the guard one last time before they stepped around a corner. "Yeah, he and I go way back... almost an hour, as it were! Ummm... I was trying to find a place to stay for the night, you see, and he just wouldn't let me talk to the innkeeper. I guess we might have had an argument... ah well. He seems to have gotten over it. ANYway!" She skipped ahead of him and jumped up on the edge of a fountain, balancing on the narrow rim with her arms stretched out.

"So... what's the deal with the tourney? You already have tickets? Or are you famous enough now that they'll let you in for free?"

Gippal

Gippal managed to exert himself so as not to try and look up her skirt, and managed to succeed, though it was a dire temptation.

"I have a private box. It's up near the top, like a little room. Supposed to be the best seats there. After all, we do deserve our perks for saving the world for Vegnagun." He laughed slightly, then continued. "You're the only person who's going to be up there. I suppose I'm lucky, I wouldn've been lonely.

Rikku

"I won't be the only person up there, silly!" Rikku replied as she jumped off the fountain's edge. She glanced at him and giggled at his confused expression. "You'll be in there too!" She said as she playfully punched him in the shoulder. "Now lead the way. I must admit, I've never been to one of those private boxes up there. Must be exciting to be so famous!"

Gippal

He laughed, "Well, actually I mispoke, of course I'll be there. I meant that it'll be just the two of us."

After her punch, he returned with a light shove, then responded, "And, don't give me that famous crap. You're just as famous as I am Rikku. Who could forget that cute little blonde Gullwing? Not me!" Laughing again, they arrived at the stadium, and he led her up the stairs.
