Ghosts from the past

My first ex-wife requested that I 'friend' her on Facebook. I have to wonder, "Why?" After all these years we have nothing in common save the two sons that she never raised. With great reluctance I 'confirmed' the request.

But I'm still wondering why after all these years she'd want to intrude on my life? There's nowhere she's been, or anything she's done, that is the slightest interest to me and I can't imagine why she would show the slightest interest in my life post divorce. I'm hoping that this is just some sort of vicarious voyeurism on her part and not an initiation of what, in her mind, will be an ongoing drama.

So with one little click of the left mouse button I've opened a door to the past I, erroneously it seems, thought closed. I suppose I can look at the bright side with the knowledge that with just one more click I can make it go away, like the 'ignore' function here.

Be nice, maybe she will leave you some money... :)

You could make her an acquaintance and then limit your posts to friends only.
I have seen people do that.

LMAO, that fortune is long gone. It was that fortune that was one of the reasons for our split. Her mother used that money as a weapon, she followed the money, I followed my own life.

Her mother is dead and I'm pretty sure she's pissed the money away. That's her look out now.

I know that these things are complicated and I shouldn't pass any judgment, but the phrase "the two sons that she never raised" caught my attention.
Because my understanding is that in the US, divorce proceedings are positively biased towards women.

What kind of woman does that?

Maybe now that she doesn't have money issues, she misses you ;)

A woman who knows her kids would be better off with their dad?

I's drivin' down the road and I saw a squirrel
an' he jumped in front and I had to swerve.
Ran into the dirt and I got a flat an' I need you here to fix it stat.

It ain't me babe
no, no, no it ain't me babe

You're right. As long as she doesn't cut any contact with them as well.

One of my relatives went through something like that - simply discarded,. And it was awful, even if her mother who raised her before that wasn't her biological mother.

Ok, got it.
It was an honest question not an attack, given that you often start baiting threads.

Surely she has some angle...it could be simply nosiness. Or not knowing your family dynamics, maybe a peek into VatAss's life.

No, she's been 'friends' with Vat for sometime now, I suspect it's more of a case of peaking into my life. Given my enthusiasm, and participation, in Facebook she's going to be sorely disappointed.

Little late for that this year. But this past years Hatch was kick ass. I'll think of you every time I cook with it. Needless to say you'll be on my mind a lot. *chuckle*

I'd be curious to find out -and since this was posted in a public forum, I'll ask- :
Is she in a relationship and if so, how's that one going on?
