It was such a perfect life, Molly and Johnny were the best of friends, they had not made love yet but relationships were beyond that. It was just a bonus and they have never gotten to it, least not yet. On the night of a stunt Johnny did was the night everything she knew changed. The forces of evil were working that night, he landed the stunt but lost control of the bike and he "broke" his neck. But when the paramedics went to him he was fine, he walked off and Molly was in shock.

He should have been dead she told herself, but she was thankful he was alive. But in those few moments where he wasn't moving he made a deal with the devil and he was now a demon. But a demon with a heart and soul, a demon with morals. He became the Ghost Rider to be there for his girlfriend, so every night he stayed away. Every night the transformations were painful, his body ached and his head felt like it was on fire. Every transformation into the ghost rider always hurt. Johnny wanted to ask her hand in marriage but now he was terrified she would reject him, what he had become.

They were spending time together and there was a strange thing going on, it was getting dark faster, Johnny looked terrified at this and pretty soon he grabbed his head in pain, she got off his motorcycle and walked to him but he told me to stop and to walk the rest of the way home, to not watch what was about to happen. But she refused.

"Johnny Im Not Leaving You!"

"Molly, you won't want to see this, believe me." Johnny tried every night to fight back the inevitable. He could control it to a point, but his deal with the devil squashed what little power he had come nightfall.

The crash didn't hurt, nor did coming face to face with an unholy darkness. The only pain he felt in the aftermath of his accident was that of knowing Molly may leave him forever when she saw the monster he had become. At first the accusations of unfaithfulness were cast when she couldn't locate him after dark. Hiding was doing no good, she would find out his secret eventually. She was just as stubborn as he was, one of the qualities that made him fall in love with her in the first place. He sighed as he watched the last sliver of sunlight disappear behind the clouds.

He flipped up the visor on his helmet and whispered to her, "Don't run, but brace yourself."

She didn't understand what was going on, but what he whispered she listened to, watching him get off and take his helmet off, she noticed his body seemed to smoke so didn't the bike and it was then that she saw him fall in pain, she looked at him.

"Johnny" She said worried.

Each transformation was basically the same. His hands would shake uncontrollably. He would try to clench them into fists to ease the pain of the flesh being torn from the bone, but to no avail. His vision would become crystal clear despite the immense pressure of his eyeballs being sucked inside of his skull. The pain of bursting into flames was beyond compare. The only thing that came close was that throbbing pain that lasted for hours after only touching a hot stove for a second.

Johnny wasn't surprised to see her back away when he looked up at her. He could see his reflection in her eyes, which were wide from fear. He lunged at her so she couldn't run. He kissed her softly on the lips. Through the flames, he could feel her warmth.

Her eyes went wide seeing what he was becoming she saw him and she got this feeling of terror, she took a step away from him she didn't know if it was him or not, but soon she felt him grab her so she couldn't run, but the way he grabbed her was loving, very gentle, and the kiss, for a moment she was shocked but his loving kiss shook her to realize it was still Johnny, she closed her eyes as she kissed him back lovingly, she felt the fire on her body but it wasn't hurting her, but warming her.

She relaxed greatly as they kissed she wrapped her arms around him, when the kiss broke she looked at him. "Johnny.....im sorry that I was afraid" She placed her hand to the side of his face. Not disgusted by his appearance he was still the same man she loved. "But I trust you, im not going any place, I understand why you hide from me at night but you don't need to any more" Running her hand down his chest.

"Im not going to leave you" She smiled" I love you to much"

Johnny was surprised to see his kiss didn't burn her, and even more surprised when she kissed him back. If any good came from his brush with evil, it was that he could now pick out those who were pure of heart and she was definitely one. He searched deep within his soul to see if he could accept her if she was a monster like him. Honestly he didn't know if he could.

"I love you too, Molly. I was going to propose to you on the night of the accident. I had it all planned out, a fancy table at Monticelli's, a ring, even a violinst to play your favorite song. But this is my curse forever to look like this. It would be wrong of me to expect you to still want me like this. I'm still Johnny, but there's a darkness inside of me now, one that I don't want to share with you. Just imagine if we had children, we'd be risking unleashing evil upon the world, or it could be like, we just couldn't be sure."

He put his arm around her to hold her, something he hadn't done since the accident. The chains on his leather jacket rattled, reminding him of the chain he used to do his work, work he was neglecting by sharing his secret with her.

She listened to what he said, she smiled some, feeling his arm around her she leaned into him as she looked into his face. "Johnny..." She said lovingly brushing her free hand on the side of his face. "Id rather have you like this then dead, if you had died I would probably have willed myself to die, you are my world, even if you say your cursed, it is my choice what my destiny is" She said sweetly. "I want to marry you Johnny, maybe even give you a son, I would take all the risks in the world to be with you, the man I love and want to spend the rest of eternity with you"

"You have no idea what eternity is," he said angrily.

It was hard to be mad at her, but he was skeptical. He thought love, joy, happiness, all those emotions were gone the day he entered hell. If he thought she could handle it, he wouldn't have hesitated. Johnny was in a tight spot. If he left her, she would probably kill herself, robbing him of the only reason he had came back in the first place. Staying with her meant a battle between good and evil was about to begin and he was happy to have her on his side.

"Ok, if you're sure you're ready. We'll wait until morning and go to the courthouse to get a marriage license."

She smiled "Your right Johnny I have no idea what eternity is like, but neither do you" She said with force but was sweet at the same time. She sighed some. "I don't know what im getting into, I know you fight good vs evil, but I wont ever regret a moment of it, as long as im by your side, I can be your light Thur all the evil in the world, nothing could make me stop loving you"

"I have only seen a glimpse of eternity. What I do is send those that deserve it to hell. If you think you can handle it you can come with me for the night and observe. I don't use a list or anything, with just my intuition I can see who are truly wicked. Just hang on to me tightly, keep your head down, and everything will be ok."

His first victim was just down the street in an alley trying to mug an old woman who put up more fight than he expected. Johnny squeezed the chain tightly in his hand and being twirling it like a lasso as he silently snagged the hood and sent him to his final destination.

She smiled and nodded, she got on his bike and wrapped her hands around his waist. She kept her head down and hung onto him tightly. She felt how fast he was going, she watched him. When he came to the first person she saw what the man was doing. She watched Johnny closely, watching him send the thug to hell.

"Know I know why people call you Ghost Rider, your swift, undetected"

"Yes, I'm not sure if they can see me or not. There's always fear in their eyes, but your eyes are the first ones I've ever seen my reflection in. I've got thirty stops to make tonight and that's not even a dent in the scum that roam around harassing the good hard-working people of the world. Why can't more people be like you Molly? Of course if they were, I'd be out of a job."

Johnny loved her clinging to him. They had planned to take his motorcycle and go cross country for their honeymoon. Now that idea didn't seem so far from reality.

She smiled some "More people can't be like me world would be boring, where ever there is man kind there is evil, just some are more evil then most" She said softly. "You have a lot of hits, wow 40?" Even tho he was the way he was she felt warmth from him, coming from the fire she grinned a bit. "Thank You Johnny" She said softly "For finally letting me into your world, I know you were terrified id leave, I was a bit afraid I will admit but I wasn't expecting you being what you are, but im grateful you are here and live in a manner of speaking"

"You're right Molly. What I do, has to be done. I guess when you put it that way, it's not so bad. After all I didn't make these people evil, I just give them what they deserve. You probably can't tell but I'm smiling a little now. This is the happiest I've felt since the accident." He was feeling a little playful as he revved the engine and popped a wheelie. He even blew a plume of smoke from his hollow throat in the shape of a heart, trying to prove to not only her but also to himself that he was still more man than monster.

Nodding she looked forward "Its a gift or a curse depending on how you look at it Johnny, but to me its not a curse, I love you, you love me, the only thing that has changed is the way you look at night" She held onto him a bit more, she laughed at the wheelie and the puff of smoke that was heart shaped. "I can tell you are happy, very happy since you were forced to show me what you have become, but I will forever hate myself for backing away from you, your a gentle man to me, like a baby lamb, but I accept you fully and love you fully, you are perfect"

"I can show you more of this world, but beware even immortality isn't certain. I don't know the full extent of my powers and for all I know this can end at any time. If I make love to you I can make you immortal so we'll never have to be apart. But that will come with a price, I don't know what it is, but we can't expect it to be that easy."

She nodded some "I don't want to leave you ever Johnny, I want you to make love to me" She said sweetly. Running her hand down his back as she looked up at the side of his face. She smiled lovingly as she held onto him even tighter, making sure that she didn't accidentally fall off.

Usually the nights were long and lonely. Each minute crept by in agony, but with Melody time flew and it was almost daybreak. He looked forward to being able to spend every moment with her now that she knew his secret. He was still able to eat and sleep, but didn't get the same feeling of satisfaction that those things provided before his accident. So he wondered if making love would provide him with any satisfaction. He was speechless from her confessions of love and couldn't find the right words to tell her how he truly felt, so he was going to show her in other ways.

When time came they were seeing the sun slowly start to rise, she sighed happily as she closed her eyes. She had his hand in hers and when she opened them she looked at him. And sighed contently, she placed her free hand on the side of his face. "I love you Johnny" She leaned up and kissed him ever so lovingly. She was very happy to be with him, and they were going to marry, she couldn't wait to be married to him, she had wanted to do this for so long.

They arrived back at her apartment after a night of cleansing the city of scum. He absorbed her kiss as he led her into the building. He was looking at her in a whole different light now. "Melody, think carefully if this is what you really want. Once I give you the gift of immortality, there's no going back, unless we find a loophole." Unlike eating and sleeping, the warm feeling around his heart was providing him with satisfaction.

She watched him turn back, seeing his normal side again, she walked beside him not leaving arms length ever. She had a very kind smile on her face, as she got into her apartment she looked at him. "I know Johnny, ive thought about it all night and ive made my choice, I want to do this" She said lovingly, running her hands down his chest, looking at him ever so lovingly, she wasn't nervous or anything.

Johnny caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. It was hard to believe just a few minutes ago he was on fire and looking like a monster. Now the reflection staring back at him was one of a handsome man. He held her close, inhaling the scent of her shampoo and perfume, relaxing in the moment of being back to his true form.
"All right then Melody, there will be plenty of time for marriage after I relieve you of the burden of mortality. So, if you're ready, I say we catch up on the lost nights we've had since the accident."

She smiled feeling his skin on hers, back to being the Johnny, back to the kindness in his face and voice, she felt his arms around her, she sighed happily, gazing into his eyes, she nodded. "Im ready" She broke from him and went into her bedroom, removing her jacket and shoes as she relaxed on the bed on her back.

Johnny had thought about this moment many times, but never had he imagined her just giving herself to him, and of course not under these circumstances. They were doing this for the right reasons, for love, not for lust. She looked very sexy laying on her back in her jeans and a t-shirt. Her pink socks with cartoon characters stitched across the toes made him chuckle softly. Suddenly, the seriousness of the situation was lightened. He hovered over her on the bed, kissing her softly on cheek and he nuzzled her neck.

She smiled lovingly at him, she saw how serious he was, but she also knew she was in great love with him and always would be. She leaned up kissing him, kissing him ever so gently, gazing into his eyes she saw nothing but warmth and love for her, he had a wonderful way with her, she wrapped her arms around him. "I love you"
