Help the Speaker up off the floor and put her on the plane with the rest of the Democrat Party. They're already in uniform.;)

There is a long history of "return to Africa" movements involving many fascinating characters and organizations. The core philosophy is still very much alive and in regular discussion by scholars and intelligentsia.

Possibly the most interesting movement was the creation of the Republic of Liberia formed in the early 1800s. Liberia has been through everything from colonization to civil wars to natural resources exploitation to tyrants.

Will there be another African-American diaspora?

How about a movement to re-patriate Literotica trolls back to their native Russia? You first, tough guy.

Yes, I just saw that in Wikipedia. African-Americans went from oppressed to oppressors and, even more ironic, to Colonizers.

"The Americo-Liberian settlers did not relate well to the indigenous peoples they encountered, especially those in communities of the more isolated "bush". The colonial settlements were raided by the Kru and Grebo from their inland chiefdoms. Americo-Liberians developed as a small elite that held on to political power,[8] and indigenous tribesmen were excluded from birthright citizenship in their own land until 1904. Americo-Liberians promoted religious organizations to set up missions and schools to educate the indigenous peoples"

It also shows that it's not only about skin color like the Left reduces it to, it's also about tribalism.
Europe, the Middle East and Africa have the most tribalistic societies - among people of similar skin color.

Haiti got it even worse...

There is absolutely NOTHING racist about inviting black folks to go back to Africa.

Considering it's coming from Africa, I don't see how it could be.

But even if it weren't, let's say a white person did it.....that would still appear to be more xenophobic than racist.

I don't know much about Haiti, but at first Wikipedia glance the problems seemed different to Liberia's:

Liberia was a bit like Israel - a country specifically carved to resettle other people, it took lands from locals

Haiti's problems were a bit like the French, Russian Revolutions, and what's happening in America now: - a revolution that started with legitimate grievances, but which eventually ran amok

During the prelude to the Civil War, free blacks were encouraged to emigrate
to South America, including Haiti as well as Liberia by a lot of Northern
whites who really didn't like them. In fact, the Peace-wing of the
Democrats wanted a peaceful union that would preserve
slavery because of the economic cost to the South
with the illegal confiscation of their property.
So, yes, some of our blacks were part
of the problem in Haiti...

Aaah...
Fascinating stuff.

Ole James Monroe was one of the founders and the face of that movement.

Apparently Bahamas?? was one of the few projects which ended in both Whites and Blacks behaving themselves (and living in harmony and economic equity).

On today's breakfast menu is History-bits!

Lots of True Grit fiber sadly lacking under present circumstances...

I'm thinking that was pretty much a British operation with their former slaves.
Everyone always glosses over that our institution of slavery
was truly a British institution.

lol you should read the non-US press! I mean their "readers' comments" sections
Particularly DailyMail (it might be a tabloid, but that part is pretty good)

They're awash with 'history lessons' and such comparisons:

"For a masterclass in how noble intentions end when the mob take over just look at the French Revolution. Tear down the old, let the mob decide and watch the reign of terror that follows. Look at Cambodia when it decided it didn't like the bougoisie and what followed, the killing Fields. The Russian Revolution had enough of the Czar and replaced him with the Soviet system resulting in millions dying in gulags. Look at Moa in China, look at ISIS more recently. It always ends in tears."

The American uprisings are losing international credibility.
It's sad, because they started the right way.
