Getting that PM - It's exciting for guys

Girls, you get PMs all the time, almost to the point where it's annoying. But when us guys get a PM from our threads, it's awesome. It just feels good. And to be clear, it's not as exciting to get a reply to the thread. It's much more personable to get a private message.

So the next time you see an ad you may be interested in, throw the guy a bone and PM him. He will get an incredible amount of hormone release than if you just reply. And also, this isn't the place to expect a man to be the one making the moves. There's a reason he posted the ad. So hit him up personally.

I can second the notion. Someone mentioned in one of the threads here that everything guys do can seem to be lose-lose. Whether it's being "uninteresting" or "creepy". Not all of the women here feel that way of course, but it is a struggle that's just part of being a man. So for guys, a PM definitely alleviates a lot of the anxiety or insecurity that comes with the expectations.

While I haven't ever written a personal thread I do occasionally get random messages and while it's nice to get a message it's usually not a message I want.

It's often from a submissive guy who's just spamming (sorry, I don't swing that way). Or occasionally from a submissive girl who seems to be just seeking release and will probably disappear shortly after if obliged.

More PMs would just be more things to sift through. Almost a distraction.

Unless you're guaranteed the PMs are quality it's probably easier to take the lead.

That is about 90% of Lit population, male and female. They get obliged and disappear. Why I dont do the obliging part anymore, unless they make quite an effort and on the long run.

Sure but how are you going to guarantee there is one genuine PM?

At least if you're sending out the PMs to parties that are attractive to you then you'll be happy enough when they respond.

Also, I'm not sure what you're sending out by my message reply rates are not too bad at all

Actually, it wasn't the PMs themselves. I literally (heh pun intended) could not navigate around Lit because every time I clicked a page, a notication would pop. Some of the PMs were really sweet, just trying to be an encouragement. Some were trollish/argumentative. And then there were the guys agreeing with me.

So for a moment, I was like "Grrrr processing overload."

It's fine now though. You can now PM me freely as I have since changed my settings.

Ah, but Kat is right. Wham, bam, disappear is the MO of most people here. Like a quick fix to a completely depraved addiction. I sometimes wham and bam with a like minded individual, but mostly I prefer to talk to someone. Get to know them, and find that sexual tension and chemistry. I know there have been times when I've wanted to send that pm, but known I'm already emotionally drained from the last soul sucking lit friendship gone south, and just can't waste the effort on someone who may be mr right now, but not much else.
