Ever get to that point in a story where you seemed to have painted yourself into a corner? I run into that from time to time. Anyone else?

Me too!!! Though nothing of mine has been posted here, I am in the middle of a erotic novel...I've got 7 pages written and I am stuck...my creative energy ebbs and flows similar to my monthly cycle...I'm sure it will pick up soon.

I have that happen all the time, BJ. Sometimes, if you skip ahead to another scene, you find you can go back to the one that gave you trouble and pick up from there with no problem.

ANother thing that works for me sometimes is to keep going in a different character's point of view.

Or, you can always ask a friend to suggest something. Often you're too close to your story and they're not, so they're able to give you suggestions.

You're not alone. I hit a writers block on Sex Wars II. And I can't seem to find my way out of it.
hate when that happens.

I have found that the way to cure this blockage is to have someone else read your literature and tell you what they think is going to happen next. If they can't think of anything, then they are either not trying hard enough, or the story is too broad.

Those are just my 2 cents....

Here's an exercise that works for me when I get stuck. I sit down and start writing and have one character do something completely unexpected, something I never intended they do. This creates an instant conflict, and from that conflict I have more story.

Nice to know that I am not the only one.

It's a pain espcially when you near what you fell is the meat of the story

It would be great if someone else could help that's for sure, but my wife has no interest in my writings lol

All comments greatly appreciated. I will try that with my next story.

I am working on my first novel and have hit a couple spots where I just couldnt figure out what to do, instead of worrying about it now I reread everthing I have written so far then set it aside for a week. I come back to it and read it and have always found a new perspective. If nothing else works you could always give it a try Lily

BJ,
you might try having someone else read it. Sometimes that can help also. I have gotten some great suggestions on the stories I have written by sending them to different friends from literotica.Im always willing to give a story a look! Good luck Lily
