Is it just me or does anyone else feel a sense of sadness when they finish writing a series? It's sort of like saying goodbye to good friends that you know you'll never see again. :(

I stopped doing that, because it irked me to stop, as you say, but even more so, because the readers would ask for more when I was not planning to revisit.

So I call the series one long work, now, and publish all at once.

I still have to let go, but at least nobody bugs me to reprise it.

If you have made your characters come alive, even if only in your head, there is always a bit of sadness when their story is done. At least for me.

I'm with you

I miss sitting in front of the fire and writing my NaNo-story with ink on paper.

I make up for it by sitting in front of the fire and re-writing the story into several little scenes that I will illustrate and turn into a comic.

People still ask me for more chapters of my novella, even though I quite clearly ended it in July. I did love writing it and I wish I could get absorbed in something like that again - I even dreamed about it night. It really was hard saying goodbye and moving on.
