Ever just want to throw away the GPS, the cellphone, and just jump into the car with a full tank of gas and drive?

Growing up, I can remember taking family drives where I would try to convince my parents to take random turns just to see where it might lead.

Then life happens. College, career, family, mortgage, job, car, and all the fun and problems that come along with it. Lately it seems the problems are outweighing the fun.

So, here I am at 43 years old. and just wanting to get lost again.

Would you care to join me? To hop into the car, pull out the driveway and go either left or right and just go.

Are you adventurous enough to learn about me along the way and share about yourself at each turn?

Are you curious enough to visit those roadside attractions all the way and just have fun? making memories?

Sure, I know it's online. I know that my real life situation and your will not change and honestly, I am not looking to change my real life situation (yes, I married). But maybe this is the adventure, the escape we both need to make real life more bearable and even enjoyable - knowing we have this adventure together.

Just imagine the conversations we will have learning about each other and talking about life. The memories we can make together.

Come get lost with me! Hope to hear from you, I am fueling up the car now, and packing some snack and drinks. There is a seat waiting just for you.

Just to be clear, this is not an invitation for an actual roadtrip (as awesome as that would be - I always wanted to be a trucker for year going across America).

Good god, yes. I used to get a strong urge to hurl my phone away every time I walked over a bridge.

Good luck to you!

Thanks. It’s fun to get lost and better to get lost with and in someone. To have that intimate connection.

I have a bucket-list item to jump in my two-seater one day and make a lap around the state, stopping wherever I feel like it. Two lane roads only!

Hi,have done just that for years.
In the UK,so a good place to travel.left home,to go to Cornwall, but traffic busy.
Turned right for general direction of,Wales.,Road works.
Go north,to Lake District.More traffic..2 hours in que.
Stopped that night in Scotland,at a terrible 'bed and breakfast ',as to late to find anything better, part of life's exsperiances.
Next day ,,,John o Groats,,,(most northerly point)Who knows.?.
A typical journey,a mystery tour.
Bob.

Just to be clear, I am male so not who you are seeking.

But I have been doing this for years by car and motorbike, sometimes I set off with a vague destination in mind (and don't always get there) and sometimes just an initial direction.

When in my twenties I had a couple of friends who used to come along, sometimes my sister.

Now my wife is normally my companion in the car, she doesn't ride pilion so if it is a motorbike trip she either follows by car or I go without her. We have a few friends who also enjoy this, we take turns leading.

My youngest son seems to have inherited this hobby, driving along a road, seeing a turning and going down it just to see where you end up.

Looking to throw a dart on a map and head out in that direction. Anyone ready to join?

Have had some nice companions for a short journey, but I’m looking for that one long journey. One last attempt before i come to the end.

Bump. No fancy words, just a shameless bump to see if this rare bird exists.

Unfortunately I am a male so again not a companion you are looking for.
Growing up we never went far for vacation, maybe 5 or 6 hours away, and
I always thought if going far it would be by plane. Then I met my wife and
she took me on our first trip (I am in Chicago),and drove to Disney and it was not bad, the next was to Idaho and Yellowstone, I thought great this is going to suck.
But it was great seeing the states the landscape and yes stopping at out of the way places to eat and taking roads you are unsure if it will get you there. I would not change it for a minute. As long as I have the time to drive I will drive.
So good luck on your journey and finding someone.....
I would love to tag along and go with you.

I'll bite

where would the starting point be? or is it just a mythical road trip?

When do we leave?

Always up for a road trip. For me, the journey is the best part. I’m always sad when the trip is over and it’s back to “real” life. Wish I had more opportunities to actually do it. I love exploring new places. Happy to virtually travel with you anytime :) Don’t forget the snacks!
