I submitted a story 11 days ago. Do they send you an email or some other notification stating that they accept or reject? How do you know? I am guessing at this point that it wasnt accepted....but I am not sure of the guidelines?
thanks for your help

You need to go to the members area, then Submissions, and View.

You should either see "Pending", "Accepted", or "Rejected".

If it is "Accepted" it has been posted.

If it is "Pending" it hasn't yet been accepted or rejected. It takes much longer for your first ever submission, and all stories submitted during a themed contest that are NOT part of the contest, take longer as well. The Halloween Contest starts tomorrow and submissions for it have been made during the last few days.

If it is "Rejected", click on the word Rejected and you will see a reason for the rejection.

I suspect that it is just the normal delay for a new writer compounded by the impending contest delay.

The irritating answer to "How Long" is "One day longer than the author thinks is an unreasonable delay".

Go to http://www.literotica.com/stories and look at the line right below the big "[literotica.com]". If it doesn't say you're logged in as, in your case, MissHolly, (or whatever name you submitted your piece under) then click on "Login" and do so. Once you're logged in, you'll see your login name there in blue letters. Click on it.

In the light blue column at the left side of the page that will open, you'll see "Submissions" in dark blue letters. Click on that word. It will turn black and the words immediately below it will then appear in dark blue. (The body of the page will also change.) Click on the second item: "- View".

When the new page opens, you should be able to see the status of your submission. (If it says "pending" in dark blue letters near the upper right corner of the gray box, do not click on that word---that will take your submission back to the end of the queue. If it says "rejected" there, you can click on that word (I'm told---it's never happened to me) to get some indication of why.

well it appears my storys were rejected. Both were very short...so maybe thats why. I have more and will try again!

The minimum length for a 'story' is 750 words. Did they have fewer than 750 words?

If you click on the "rejected" it will tell you why it has been rejected (not always too helpfully, though, and not specifically).

it stated that my stories where too short. I have some lengthy ones....I'll try that next.

Why don't you combine the stories into one submission? There's no reason you can't have two stories in one submission. Depending on the word counts of the two stories that might make the submission long enough to be accepted.
