I'm going back home in a few days which means that I'll get my hair cut by my friend who's the only hair dresser in the country who's able to cut it properly.

I'm thinking of getting something like this:

What do you think? Here's a pic of me to give you an idea. It's kind of a bad pic, and my hair is quite different now, but it shows well the form of my face.

So tell me, should I go for this look?

ETA: *poof* Sorry, I'm paranoid about leaving my pics on here.

Absolutely - you can pull it off! I am debating myself and plan on going in next Saturday. Think its time to take several inches off - time for change!

I would say this is a good choice for you. You have the face shape and attitude to be able to carry it off. Go for it.

i think that would look great on you...

i WISH i was able to have short hair again!

Hmmm. I'm torn. I think it would look cute of course, but I can't decide if the length you have now is more flattering. Hmmm.

Have that shape face too, plus been a licensed/certified active cosmetologist since '95 ......... so this is both a personal opinion as well as professional....

No doubt that you have the right attitude and a pretty face to boot ..... and, No... I wouldn't recommend that type of cut for your face shape (long narrow with prominent chin and close set eyes... makes face look even longer. It would work with your hairtype and texture from what I see in comparing both photos but..... I've had quite similar to that, wasn't the best for my longer thin face... and long thin neck. My advice would be that you go for shoulder length or longer (but only with full layers and/or waves .. lots of body).

Look good by the opinion I got from some ... and I hated it. Grew it out as fast as I could.

The pic I put up there is actually misleading: my hair is much shorter now. More of a chin-length bob cut.

And shorter hair definitely flatters me better than longer hair.

Really? See, the long hair doesn't look *bad* on me. But shorter hair looks much better. Mostly I think because my face doesn't look as long with shorter hair.

I thought this cut would look good because it looks like it would frame my face nicely, and the very short length on the front would make my forehead look less prominent. No?

I like it, DB. Because you and I have similar hair types, though, I question one thing. Would you be able to make your hair do that? That's always the problem I have, LOL. A stylist can usually make my thin, oily hair look good, but I have a hard time duplicating it myself at home. That's why I stick with the same old boring cut I've had for years. :( It doesn't look great, but it looks less bad than some cuts I've had over the years, LOL.

But if you're good at styling your own hair, then go for it! :D

Go for it

I think it would make you look a little wilder. I think it would make you feel a little wilder. And thats what we all want is a wilder woman.

see what you think of this DB...just a quick photoshop, but it will give you an idea...

OMG - that's terrible.

Not your photoshop work mind you. The look.

OK, not so sure anymore that I'd go for this look. It looks like Sinn was right afterall...

Eh, the photoshop was pretty sucky on its own. I didn't think the look was terrible, but I did think the shorter length is good for you. (I've always been jealous of long necks though)

I ran to my paint program and did the same in about 2 minutes. You posted first..

What looks best is in the eye of the beholder. If you feel good in it, that is what matters most (or in a pyl's case, or the woman who takes the opinion of her 'SO' into concideration .. long as your PYL approves of it/finds it attractive on you too... or if they don't, as long as you can LIVE with the fact that they don't etc ect) .. some PYLs may care about what their pyl finds attractive, also .. yeah, understood and concidered.

I agree that it should be something you can style easily enough on your own, and have the time to dedicate (or willing to) toward styling too.
Also for concideration:

How will it look as it grows out?
Expected upkeep time .. money etc concidered: How often will you need to have it cut to keep up with this look?
Are you looking for just one style day in and day out or do you wish to get a style with more than one look being possible?
Have you concidered other ways that the style CAN be worn ?
Are you REALLY wanting this change or just bored/going through stress and acting on impulse for lack of a better method of demonstrating control over 'something'? (IT happens..........).

IT explains my eyebrow piercing...LOL

Fuck...i really want my hair cut. It is SO much longer than my AV now and it's just driving me CRAZY...

It's not about who is right.... shouldn't be.
It's about making sure you don't cut all that hair off and then regret it.

You can cut it off in the blink of an eye..... growing it back takes SO much longer though (ugggh @ those in between stages of growth too ... those suck). ;)

Your av looks like you have some curl there HM?
Do you fight that .. or try to work with it? I have very large very loose waves. I shampoo condition, then warp in a towel... take it down in a few and saturate the ends with a good drenching of water (spray bottle .. add a tiny bit of conditioner to water for added static control). Part to the side... scrunch the peices that frame the face for a soft wavy look. Allow to airdry while you put makeup on ... or do housework etc ect ...
Your mileage may vary.Waves/curl can at least help grow out stages.... more so than fine of pokey/pin straight hair with no body ..

ETA:The winter weather / cold climate makes hair styling so much more challenging too. STATIC and artificial heat/indoor climate is the enemy.

I like it the way it is

Me too. If it were my hair : I'd get some very long layers added throughout.

Shortest layer being no shorter than about an inch or two below the cheekbone.

To style:
Blow dry the roots to add fullness to that type hair.. medium round brush to direct from cheekbone down onto the face......... or scrunch the ends with mousse from cheekbone downward.
Fast easy style for most... suited to most face shapes too.

The upkeep thing is a good point. The only thing that I dislike about short hair actually. And usually, the shorter it is, the more often you have to get it cut.

As for REALLY wanting the change... well, it probably has something to do with taking control over at least my hair these days. But I've had the same long hair for so long, since I cut it short this summer, I have so much fun changing hair style every two months or so.

Well, this I like to. Of course a bit shorter in the front since I'm wearing glasses.

Very cute. Be careful though... bleached out plat-blondes look very different than the color you have in your photo of yourself. Bleached hair is style-friendly too as far as ease in styling. It does just about anything with little to no effort... in most cases.

ETA: This one would be better than that first blonde photo..

Oh - my hair is brown right now. And I would most likely keep it that color. Blond looks horrible on me. Been there done that.

I was given that cut once my a stylist who was getting "creative."

It is just not right for me, and I think we have long lost twin hair and long lost twin 'tudes.
