Trump began the tradition of weaponizing pardons and using them as loyalty rewards. He should be flattered if Biden continues the practice he pioneered.

The incoming administration is preparing show trials against any and all personal grudges and political opponents. They are quite open and honest about it. Biden and the Democrats should believe them and do whatever they can to short circuit this Orwellian rewriting of history. Pardoning their intended (and announced) victims would do America a tremendous service by taking away their smokescreens before they can light them.

Trump did not begin a tradition on pardons Historically, they have been used politically by most every President.

Senators decide whether he is confirmed. If they decide the stories about him are true, then that is their choice. I'd expect them to do their due diligence to decide.

Talk about a self confession that DOJ is weaponized (Note – not saying “has been”). Blanket pardons just scream guilt and taint the administration to Teapot Dome Scandal levels. This might be a time to consider doing a Democrat thing: ignore history and deem Presidential Pardons for un-convicted criminals moot as we did for Judicial filibustering. Maybe, the Democrats have yet to learn, institutionally, the price of misappropriating the People’s Government to create an Oligarchy of the Connected Elite.

Maybe it’s time for a Right-Wing cancel culture now that the shoe’s on the other foot.

That’s how a dedicated Democrat would think.

If they are pardoned, then there is no need for show trial.

Will he preemptively pardon a bunch of people? I hope not. I'd say Congress should impeach him if he does.

The likely scenario is that he pardons a bunch of off color criminals and throws in some personal pardons that campaign donors paid for, just like every other President has done and we move along.

But Biden has already abused the power once, and he might just want to burn the place down on his way out the door.

If he truly wanted to go out on a blaze of glory, he'd premptively pardon Trump and then watch the fireworks
