George Zimmerman wants state of Florida to pay for defense expenses

The Sentinel reported that Zimmerman's request would be based on a Florida law that says a defendant who's acquitted isn't liable for costs associated with his or her case. It must be approved by a judge or a clerk.

Fla. should pay them, maybe next time they won't waste time on an open and shut case. :)

Its not the pols money. They'll just bump up the price of school milk and blame Bush.

That's what the people of Florida get for voting for the candidate the NRA supported.

If you want to complain, talk to that dumb special counsel who went against all common sense and charged Z with second degree murder, even though there was almost no chance of a conviction.

The law makes a lot of sense. The state has almost unlimited resources, while the accused may have few or none and will sometimes be pauperized with the expense of a trial, even if he doesn't go to prison. A lot of Z's costs were paid for by donors who recognized he was getting a raw deal, but he should still be entitled to whatever costs are not paid.

The comical thing about this is, that the people who are mad at the special counsel, are the people who voted for them, and they will happily vote for them again in 2014.

Ha! Per capita (2010 info), Florida gets $1.68 from the Feds for every dollar they pay. Yep. Make the state pay! Well informed electorate we have here.

Feds should pay, they forced the issue after Fla. said no trial was needed.

I have no intention of going to FL and living there so I can vote there in 2014.

Something did need to be done and should have been done from the start.

No. They knew it was an impediment to business and job growth.

Then they knew something that is false. It's not their fault, lots of people buy that line of bullshit.

There was a half assed investigation but regardless he probably did mean a trial and there should have been a trial.

The legal fees must be a lot less than the cost of all the Big Macs and Burger King Whoppers that Mr. Zimmerman was devouring for months leading up to the trial.

Was he loading up in anticipation of a long prison sentence?

Fuck Lawyers, Fuck Florida, Fuck Zimmerman, Fuck most of humanity....Oh....never mind!!!!
