After months of beating the war drum, rallying the troops and generally acting the arsehole George now reckons that war with Iraq is avoidable and anyway it's very much a last choice.
What happened? Did the mid-term elections have such a deep affect on your Commander in Chief that he's decided to follow the path of diplomacy and peace as a thankyou to the American voters, or has he slowly come to realise that there ain't many people out here who are willing to support him.
As Chruchill once said about another man and another conflict:
"I don't think I would have been such a fool as to have started it in the first place, but once started I would not have been such a bigger bloody fool as to stop it half way through"
Does anyone trust George's ramblings any more?
From the New York Times - 20 November 2002
"In a news conference with Czech President Vaclav Havel, Bush said a military clash with Iraq was his ``last choice'' -- and an avoidable one. It is still possible Saddam could get the message, Bush said. ``If the collective will of the world is strong, we can achieve disarmament peacefully,'' he said."
