Genre help

[Omniferis]

I'm looking for fantasy stories involving sword and sorcery, as well as stories with aliens having humans helping them save their world. If anyone knows of a great writer or series with these please drop a line here so I can find them. Thank you.

Well...I know of several that have been favorited a lot as authors of the genre, but the topics and stories vary wildly. These are some who definitely put the most into describing their world, though. You'll just have to sample and see what you like. They aren't listed in any particular order.
