I've heard of them before, but yesterday I found out that I had one within my folds. Very painful! How should I deal with this? Does anyone know any treatment for it? Should I just let it run its course?

Honestly, a lot of the chemical stuff used for pimples elsewhere works by drying out the skin it's applied to. I think that'd cause more problems than it'd solve. I'd just let it run its course...

College you might just try a Google search for: Treating genital pimples

You might be very surprised what you may find. Good luck.

I'd have to agree with incognito989... I don't think you want to use harsh chemicals on such a sensitive area...

I get one on my cock every once in a while, and I just let it run it's course.

I didn't know if there was some special treatment for them or something. I'll try looking it up on Google, but if I can't find anything, I'll just let it run its course. Thanks guys.

If i were you, i'd pop into a doctor, 'cause i have herpes, but to me it's no different than acne. Irritable, and reoccurring every few years.

And contagious. Good to get checked out before having any genital-genital or mouth-genital contact w/ anyone.

Good luck.

Very good advice anyway. I myself have a blemish on my cock - it's a tiny, tiny little red dot that I've had for years. I did freak out a bit when I first noticed it (it's on the underside) and ran crying to the doc - turns out it's nothing at all.

But the advice is sound. If you're sexually active, it's best to get tested often. A lot of STDs don't have symptoms, too.

Good advice on the herpes thing... worth getting a test. Most pimples come from clogged pores caused by dirt, oil and sweat. As you know in these summer months it can get pretty arm in your underwear.

Try talcum powder, wash well and use a mild facial cleanser... nothing more. No Ozy-10 down there!

Definitely see a doctor.

If it turns out to be a harmless pimple, leave it alone, keeping the area clean, of course. If you shave down there, don't do it for a while, at least until it is completely gone.

Good luck.

I'll go with everyone else - see a doctor - if it is just a pimple maybe they'll tell u what can get rid of it fast.

Ah geez, all this herpes talk has me scared now. I did consider that (believe me, I'm paranoid about this stuff...I thought I was pregnant once because my period skipped a month, even though I hadn't had sex), but since I haven't had intercourse and both me and my boyfriend have never been with anyone else, I'm not sure how that would be able to happen. Can one get herpes out of nowhere? I'll talk to my mom about it. I don't know if university health services is still working. They're really hard to deal with, too. I'll keep it in mind, though.

Yeah, those genital pimples are really a pain!

Litterally, very painful.

I've had them in my inner labia and also my mons. And for about a day I did freak out about maybe having herpes- but then I remembered that I have had them before I had any sexual contact with anyone. I did do a search on it and found out it's pretty common.

Not to worry!

Just be sure to wash well down there to prevent more. When I use Clearasil on my face in my morning shower, I actually do a quick wash down there with the medicated soap (not too detailed given the delicate and sensite crevices) in addition to normal body wash. Seems to work pretty well for me.

Good luck!

I'll pick up some medicated soap and give it a shot. If it doesn't go away by the time I go back home, I'll mention it to my mom and see what she says, in case it is something more serious, for some reason. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, mine took about a week to clear up, maybe 10 days.

Well ,I also have herpes, and I got it through oral sex, while I was still technically a virgin...He had a cold sore..Sooooo..even if you and your BF have not had intercourse, but had oral..it is a possibility..20% of the population has it..

Hmm...from cold sores... that's an interesting piece of info. I'll remember that. Thank you.

I have had genital pimple like things before but not sure its the same as yoru talking about. Mine was more like a boil from an ingrown hair or something.. not between the folds. If this sounds the same I used warm compresses soaked in epsom salts and water. A trick my electrologist told me to get ingrown hairs to come out between treatments.
