OOC:
Open for a half-decent female writer to take the role of a girl. Or woman, it doesn't have to be a schoolgirl, exactly.
As long as you know what grammar and spelling mean and realize this isn't a one-line-at-a-time chatroom, I'm good. Other roles may be accepted later, by PM request if both I and whoever plays the girl both approve it.
IC:
It was an odd form of existance. He did not go old, nor die, always staying the same age he was at the time of the... transformation. He did not need food or water, did not get tired, and was not bound by gravity, or walls, or the eyes of any people. He was like a spirit, ably to fly anywhere and see anything in the world, but unable to interact with it.
That is, of course, until he was summoned by someone taking posession of the object he was bound to and unlocking its powers. Then, he would be able to take on a human-like physical form and finally see grass bend under his feet, and the doors open under his hand, rather than just let his incorporal being though.
Usually genies were bound to old lamps, unlocked by rubbing. That is how a certain ancient wizard, whose name could not really even be written with today's letters, used to like setting it up. His was not quite like that, being of the later-period genies. He was tied to a beautiful old ring, that could be easily worn and taken with one anywhere, and summoned by a twist of its stone.
Sad him, the ring was, after a little while, lost, found, resold many times, and not one person in two hundred years who possessed it has managed to unwittingly unlock its powers. Until now.
For the first time in centuries, he felt the pull that grew stronger by the moment. He knew he had to follow it.
Materializing, he found himself in the middle of a jewelry store. Snap - went his fingers and time froze all around, leaving only him and a girl able to move. He looked at his newest 'savior' with interest. Usually it was old, powerhungry men, whose bidding he had to do in the past. This time it was a female, and quite a beatiful one at that. Not that it mattered for her now. Had she even been the ugliest one in the world, a single wish could turn her into a supermodel-like beauty.
'Speaking of which,' he thought, 'I need to introduce myself and let her know what she did.'
He walked - actually walked, complete with the echo of footsteps! - to the puzzled and confused girl, the ring on her finger with a store price tag still on it. He smiled.
"Good day, beautiful. So, you have unlocked the powers of this ring and let me out?"
It must have sounded rather silly, especially since he preffered to always keep his physical appearance in tune with the timeperiod and its fashions. There he was, a good-looking, nicely built man with somewhat pale skin and green eyes, wearing a suit, which made him look just like hundreds of others that visited this downtown store, telling her about some mystical powers of the ring. Had it not been for frozen surroundings, she probably would have taken him for a psycho.
"I have frozen the time for a while, so we can get aquainted in private. Don't worry, it will be back to normal shortly." He smiled again, trying to look friendly.
"Have you read stories about genies? I know you have. It is hard to find someone who did not nowadays. I am one. You have let me out, and for as long as that ring is safely on your slender little finger, I will do my best to fulfil what you wish for. All you need to do to call me is to twist the stone like you just did."
"What is your name, my dear?" He asked the mesmerized girl. She answered and he smiled again.
"It's a pleasure." He kissed her hand delicately. "I will disappear now and time will move on again. When you want to talk again, just twist the stone."
There was no "poof" or other cheap effects. He merely vanished and the world kept on going like nothing happened. All of it except for the stunned girl.
