General rant about laziness & posting

How hard is it for people to spell out these words-

YOU

ARE

They are 3 letter words. I know it is faster to just type a u or an r, but if you are trying to impress someone and you would want them to talk with you, the extra 2 letters of each word are no big deal.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I really try not to get too uptight about spelling. Everyone makes a mistake once in awhile.

For instance, I am missing the gene that governs the i before e rule. I fuck it up constantly.

You are absolutely not the only one who feels that way.
I got so pissed off one night in my yahoo pool league that the whole night I typed nothing but the first letter of whatever word I wanted to say......all night.an lol now and then is cool....but sheeeesh........abbreviating a three letter word is absolutely rediculous and its getting worse every day online.

I think that Spin does it on occassion, but we all shake our heads and smile as if to say, "that Spinaroonie!" Other than that, you rarely see it used on lit. Either that, or my eyes spell out abbreviations for me??? That would be trippy!

it is a valid complaint, but i think i have been online for so long, i rarely (if ever) actually notice it anymore.

i am shocking when it comes to capitalisation, but its kind of my trade mark and i actually find people don't believe its me when i use it lol

All i can say is that using things like u and r, annoys me alot less than say, l33t speak

It IS unattractive. If they havn't got the time to spell, how can they have the time to give any more attention to you than it takes to get their own rocks off. (hmm, was that gramatically correct?) Anyway what I mean is this: those posts/Pm's/Chat messages have only one function.
To express interest as quickly as possible to as many people as possible in order to cast the net as wide as possible.
Its only when they start paying attention to the spelling that its worth reading.
