Hi there,

I typically use Google docs to write my stories and then copy/paste to post here. Google is telling me I don’t have space to write there anymore - is there an online word processor type site that I can just log into and work on stories?

That leads me to a second question: I have a TON of stories that I feel are about 90% complete, but I get too horny when writing and probably rush through some details, or they are just totally not finished. Is there somewhere I can go to ask for help and have someone to edit/fill in on my almost complete stories??

Thanks I’m advance!
Xx

I don't know about having others finish your story for you, but you may get a boatload of offers to help with your horniness problem.

This in itself sounds like the plot of of a softcore film  How very meta of you.

I have pretty good luck by shooting requests to the volunteer editors program and/or the editors forum here.

Just give them a logline - a few sentences summarizing the story, how many words they're dealing with, and what you're looking for help with (structure, plot, dialogue, etc... the more specific, the better, I think)

With every story I've done this for, I've gotten a response from a wiling editor within a couple days... hope that assuages your horniness problem.

Quite likely, getting rid of a long video or two, or a few large pictures, if you’re willing to separate yourself from it, would probably make room for lots more stories.

Microsoft word online, free version, would also buy you I believe 5 gig, which would also last a while, assuming you go easy on videos

Why not just get something like LibreOffice?

Alternatively, just use Literotica itself.

<----- Throwing you a lifeline.

1) What kind of device are you writing on? Do you have Word? If you do, or use the online version suggested above, that will do it.

2) If you are really getting so horny by your own writing that you can't finish, then try finding a story on Lit that excites you, rub one out, satisfy that urge and then write. Take care of the need first, and it will add fresh feeling and memories for your writing.

3) How long are your stories and which categories? Pick what you think are your two best unfinished stories and if you want PM me a description of them or a quick outline. (Not the story) I am a Volunteer Editor and if I think we are a fit, we can finish them together.

Google Docs gives you 15 GB (gigabytes) on Google Drive, shared amongst photos, videos, Docs and Sheets files, etc. (modulo older ones that don't count against the limit). Not even my longest (70,000 words) Literotica stories even get to 100 KB (kilobytes). I have videos that take up, say, 100 MB (megabytes).

So, by deleting one, a single video, I'd have room for 1,000 more stories.

That's your easiest solution. Remove a video.

The mentions of Libre Office are fine, you can download and install it for free on your laptop or computer. But. That means that your files are only stored locally, unless you do manual or automatic backups to external storage. If your disk crashes you've likely lost your files without the backups.

The advantage of Google Docs is reliability (although I also keep my files locally) but also being online you can access from anywhere. With Libre Office on your machine, you lose that unless you upload and download the files (and then you have the location and space issue you've already described.)

And you're still limited to however much disk space you have on your machine.

That leads me to a second question: I have a TON of stories that I feel are about 90% complete, but I get too horny when writing and probably rush through some details, or they are just totally not finished. This is actually being discussed on another thread on this forum. I've done one story that was a very basic idea (three characters and an open theme - mermaids, rest left up to me). That's fine (I have a second on an unrelated idea in the pipeline.) But I've zero interest in filling-in someone else's story.

You can ask on the Editor's Forum or post in Story Ideas forum. Just be clear you're asking for more than 'editing', essentially you're asking for a co-author.

But I only speak for myself.

Simplest idea is a version of PW’s.

Create a new Google account just for Literotica docs. Tons of space then.

Microsoft recently added this feature with the microsoft cloud. If you're using word, you can configure it to automatically synchronize whatever you have on your machine with their servers.

Another alternative, if you prefer your stuff to stay off other's servers, is to use Syncthing and to configure it to synchronize your documents folder between devices. use one master folder and just let the computers share it between each other.
This only works in the same wifi net though and the computers have to be on, unless you go through the trouble of VPN tunneling all of your devices to your own wifi network.
It doesn't work very well with smartphones or other ARM devices.

I'm old school. I copy documents to a thumb drive and physically more the thumb drive to plug into my other computer...

I don't like the idea of my incomplete stories being in the cloud or in some other place that I don't control.

My back-ups are on CDs or DVDs. Originally they were on 360k 5.25 inch floppy floppies, then 3.5 inch ones. Even earlier when I first started writing, they were on 8 inch floppies under CP/M. But I lost one draft of an early story on a 360k floppy that went bad.

Cloud vs no cloud is a raging philosophical debate, across every corner of the computing world.

These could happen to anybody;

A family member needs an emergency thumb drive. Or just needs to log into their own webmail and innocent fly ends up on your computer. Let me just borrow this one. Whoaaaaaa!

Similarly, maybe it’ll be tomorrows headline. X-million passwords were stolen from Y-internet provider, and it’s been like that for the past year. But only uncovered yesterday.

Or your family member is browsing the internet from your same WiFi network and thereby the same IP address, but their computer, not yours. A banner ad appears. “Sale!! Save 30 percent on butt-plugs, ball-gags, and leather lone-ranger masks”

It’s a conundrum that we all must make if we have a secret or two to keep. A calculated risk every one of us here has chose. To take.

It's a risk I don't want to take. My wife is even more paranoid. She will not order from any retailer that will store her card details, and she won't create an account. If she can't order as a guest? She won't.

Neither of us, on principle, will have an Amazon account. Yet both of us get spam emails several times a week telling us our Amazon account has been compromised.

I use PayPal and forward phishing emails to PayPal several times a week.

I also get phone calls claiming to be from the VISA and Mastercard security services. Since when did they work together?

Yep, I got that "Amazon" telephone call less than a half hour ago. (We screen all of our calls before answering. The pitch came from a local number and was dumped into our voice mail).

I agree on not having any online retail accounts. They've never had a problem with selling to a "guests" or having their unsolicited follow-up e-mails unsubscribed.
