General question, not sure where to ask.

I submitted a story 2x and was immediately rejected. After a lengthy revision and lengthening, I resubmitted. Now that it wasn't sent back almost immediately, can anyone give me an idea of about how long it takes the moderator to approve and publish submitted or works... or again reject them?

The average I've seen for established authors is around two days. If it's your first couple of submissions, it may take a little longer.

If it's been longer than say five days ( barring audio and illustrated stories, which are only posted on certain days ) then check to make absolutely sure the story is in the "Pending" folder and not the "Drafts" folder.

It's really easy to hit the wrong button. This has been the problem with submissions not being posted more often than you would think.

If it's in the drafts folder, click to open it, scroll to the bottom, and make sure you hit the "Preview" button instead of the draft button. Same at the bottom of the preview, making sure you hit "Submit"

I agree, 5 days to a week seems to be somewhat normal for a new author on here. If it got rejected that quickly the first time around I would suspect it was a formatting thing, or something else that could be spotted at a glance without even starting to read. Like not properly formatting into paragraphs, having sentences that span half a page, wrong use of quotes and punctuation (or lacking those entirely), etc. You should have gotten a note about why it got rejected as well.

Anyway, good luck! If the date on your submission in the Pending folder changes to a future one, that means it's approved and will be posted on that date. If it gets send back again, post the reason you got here and one of the editors can help you fix those issues.
