Okay, I don't mean to sound preachy or braggy but...I think that gay and bisexual men are more interesting than heterosexual people. Why ? So many reasons !

The average male student isn't interested in student government. At my school, there are three males on the student senate. All three of them are gay, including my pal P.G. though he is closeted. Another thing, Stanley, a guy I met at the school gym told me about something that happened to him recently. He's a Basketball player and closeted. His coach said to his teammates : " I'm ashamed of you, men. Y'all played like faggots. All except for my man Stan here. Be more like him." Stan, the Basketball player in question told me that he almost laughed. Imagine, the gay kid on the team is the BEST athlete.

There's this really nice-looking and interesting guy in my Mediation class. His name is Tim. In class, he's the funny one with the comments. He's also smart. Guess what ? He's not exactly straight,
though he certainly is straight-acting and masculine.

And then of course, there's me. I'm told that I am the most outspoken in my classes when it comes to political issues, gender issues, race issues and whatnot. I think the fact that I am bisexual might have a little bit to do with it. I'm sure that not all
gay/bisexual people are smart. Duh ! But overall, I think we're among the smartest and most interesting people out there.

Tim showed me a list of famous GLBT academic and athletic overachievers. I'm telling you, man, when it comes to great accomplishments, we are NOT a minority !!! We are well represented.

Doesn't that make you feel GOOD inside ?

I'm friends with a lot of interesting straight people, and I know some catty gay people. I can't say I agree gay people are any more interesting than straight.

AS a broad statistical category, it seems that gay people, in general, are more highly educated and more financially secure. But, as you've pointed out, there's good and bad in every crowd.

I'm with you on this one, I know as many useless cunts as I do witty lesbians, sexual orientation has nothing to do with intellectual achievement, or general success.

Of course, the OP did not mention lesbians (excepting the passing notice in the next to last paragraph as part of lbgt), only gay and bisexual men, perhaps lesbians are the only non-straight people with morons among their population.

:emoticon:

I'll agree with kbate and RazorSplitClit..
Sexual orientation has nothing to do with intellect.
There are stupid homo/bisexual people as well as stupid straight people in this world. Same goes for smart people.

I could agree with the fact that SOME gay or bisexuals would want to get a higher up position, but I'd think that it's probably because they want to prove something to themselves and the community and not solely because they're interested in the subject.(I don't know if I said this in the right way, so you might not understand it..)

Anyway, all of my good friends are straight and they are people I really admire. They are smart and have good rhetoric skills. On the other hand, I've met gays that had TERRIBLE way of thinking and I couldn't even have a normal conversation with them.. So don't just see one side. I sure am happy when I hear that a person I admire or respect turns out to be homo/bisexual, but it's not like that's the reason they are smart. And it also doesn't matter at all..as long as they are good at what they do. ;) phew long post..I hope I was making some sense..
