I was just watching a movie called guess who's coming to dinner, it's a 1967 film about interracial marriage. I have to say that it struck me the type of topics that come up. "Will your children have trouble?", "How will you deal with other people's reactions?", misconceptions about black Americans, religious beliefs etc... I think the surprising part was that in most of the situations you could insert gay into interracial. So here's my question, I keep hearing that gay marriage can't be compared to interracial marriage and it's insulting. I just don't get it, we're seeing the exact same legal battles and tactics, the exact same type of conflicts from the same groups, hell most of the arguments are just recycled. So why isn't their a comparison?
