Gay male story questions

Wasn't sure where to post this.

I'm working on some stories for the Survivor contest (write stories for all categories on Lit). I've got some questions regarding the gay male category.

I looked at some of the stories that got rated the highest within that category. Now, call me stupid and stereotypical, but I expected more graphic stuff than the first few stories. One of the stories contained of many chapters and I was amazed that so many of the chapters didn't even include sex at all. Just regular plot, and still it was so highly rated.

As I have no clue what the gay male audience on Lit are into, I'd appreciate if some readers might PM me and give me some hints.

It may be a personal fetish , but I prefer first person stories of a man receiving anal sex.

As for the highly rated story to which you refer:

I definitley prefer it graphic. But, then again maybe the votes are coming from a different sort of guy than me.

69, don't fret over what people will like or not. Just write what YOU'd like to see in a gay male story.

That's what I do. Works for me.

With my lesbian sex and gay male stories both, feedback and votes seem to come with the stories that deal with a lot of inner emotions. When I read gay male, I look for reactions; mostly I like the stories where the man is doing it for a woman or behind his womans back...usually straight, off center for this one instance.

Write it as you feel comfy writing it, don't try to force yourself into the mind of a gay male in order to try to write a gay love story, it might not work.

I include bi-sex male and female in some stories, I prefer to detail gay sex acts rather than gay love thoughts, I know what sex is like, straight and bi, i don't know what a gay woman or fully gay man would be thinking at all times.
Simpler for me to just have them fuck each other and done with.
