Does this exist, or is it really that uncommon? I would really like to see a story about this if there is any. If not then I might have to write my story.

You'd have to make the character identify as gay, but really be bi-curious for it to work.
Atlhough, then again, it depends on if he's going to like it or not.

They're very rigid labels that can't possibly deal with the complexity of attraction and sexual desire. I'm a big believer that you're attracted to the person, not their gender. Hence, in my view, it's perfectly possible that someone may deviate from their gender-orientated label and be seen to be crossing the gender barrier by the one-label-fits-all followers when in truth they just happened to be attracted to that person.
