Gay for Pay- Is it really a big deal?

Hey Ladies & Gentlemen,

I have noticed alot of comments posted on the porn sites I visit that seem to have a bit of a problem with gay for pay porn actors. Now, I do have to ask you all this, does it really bother you all knowing the two performers might not be really gay in the first place?

To give my answer, it's really not a big deal to me. I mean, alot of girl to girl scenes are of two straight women (albeit, most of these are boring as Hell with zero chemistry). Same can be said about male to male stuff. I'm aware that alot of the gay porn I watch normally has a straight guy who is performing for money (of course, isn't this true for ALL pornstars).

Of course, I will say that many of the gay for pay actors might actually be straight, but most like bisexual, like me, or closeted homosexuals. Or as a society, we just view too much on labels without a deeper understanding how human sexuality really works.

So, let's try to solve this issue here.

I watched an interview with Ewan Mcgregor on The Graham Norton show in England. It's interesting how the Europeans are less interested in labels then Americans are. He was talking about shooting a gay sex scene with Christian Bale, The Dark Knight himself. Neither one of these men has come out and say they were gay. In fact Ewan refuses too lable himself as bi or gay nor has Christian Bale. So these two actors are at the peak of their careers in terms of mega movies, did it bother their career to make a gay male movie? Obviously not.

So if a guy in a porn movie says he is "gay for pay" to get food on his table then so be it. It's probably that individual's insecurities that makes him draw his blurred line in the sand.

As to the subject: IMO, there gay for pay, then there's "gay for str8 people who want to be titillated for pay". The chicks with the big poofy hair, fake boobs and 4" finger nails appeal to the latter group. I don't mind the actors/actresses so much as I do the sorry ass views who think two str8 chicks waving around strapons is actually lesbian sex.

Look I didn't say that everyone is bi, I just said that those people who are well and turly 100% at either end of the specturm are few and far between. Doesn't mean everyone (or even most) are lumped in the middle or even spread evenly.

Just means that everyone falls somewhere into the spectrum between absolutes, and as I see it one way of measureing exactly where they fall on this line is by determining exactly how much they would charge to do a porn scene outside of their determined orientaion.

If you'd die first, you're 100% one way or another, if you'd do it for a million smackeroos you're probably in the 90th percentile etc.

I have no problem with gay for pay. What gets me off is passion, intensity and chemistry. If the porn lacks that its a waste of everybody's time and money.

I've had guys offer me money for sex, but that was never my motivation. There were times when the offer of a warm place to sleep and get a shower was enough to get me to go home with a guy. I had a few people offer that with no ulterior motives. A blow job or cash was just an extra bonus.

This is new to me, because I have always thought that any man that has sex on camera with another man, then he is surely gay. I would have never guess that straight men have to go gay for pay just to get some money in their pockets.

I don't think that logic follows. There are all kinds of things I find completely uninteresting that I'd do if somebody paid me enough. For instance, the idea of photocopying things is quite boring, but if somebody offered me good money to do it, I'd photocopy stuff all day.

In fact, I'm behind on writing the stuff I want to write for Lit right now, because I've been getting paid to write other erotica to specs. Some of it turns me on at least a little, and some of it just baffles me, but apparently I can fake understanding it well enough to get repeat business. My best paying client likes something I find actively un-sexy, but I write for him because I need the money, it's harmless, and I'm glad I can make somebody happy. (And, conversely, some people can be totally turned on by a subject, but write about it so badly that it's painful to read.)

Gay actors and actresses have been portraying heterosexual romance in Hollywood movies since they started making movies, and doing it as well as anyone else. Straight actors have started doing the reverse. This is just entertainment. If the acting is bad and unconvincing, find something else to amuse you. If it's convincing enough to be pretty hot, who cares what the porn actors prefer to do on their days off?

I think It comes down on the intimacy type of thing to alot of people. I mean, when you see a porno of any type, you would prefer if the performers have a attraction/passion for each other. When that performer is basically saying "I might do a guy on camera, but I really prefer women", it feels like a betrayal to alot of their fans.

Though, I do think there are examples. I think Christian is one example, as he started in gay porn (under the name Maxx Diseal) than progress to straight (and tranny) porn. However, some hypocripsy does occur when you read on his Wikipedia page (which I have linked to) that alot of women performers don't do scenes with him because of his gay and tranny stuff. I bet you all that those same women do girl on girl scenes.

Having seen both his straight and gay stuff, he's a good performer. He clearly enjoys it, and has alot of intimacy with his co-stars (men and women).

Another porn star known as Wolf Hudson is gay for pay, but uses the term "sexualist" instead, since (read the personal life of his Wikipedia profile), he does gay porn, but never dates men in real life. That makes a bit of sense, but I do agree it sounds a little bit like bullshit, if you go by labels.

Of course, his straight career got screwed up by the 2010 AIDs porn industry outbreak, so we will never know.

Actually, that was me realizing that I tend to absorb alot of unneeded knowledge about stuff.

But, no, it doesn't, though I do remember someone talking about a video featuring dino-porn, but the less said about that, the better.

its kind of funny that the industry aids discoveries were all linked to a single test center that was shut down. i cant really figure out my orientation. normally i have straight fantasies, but when i imagine doing gay for pay, i cant not enjoy the fantasy, and it always involves a girl watching getting jealous and or turned on at the same time i dont know. as for hiv, go get a self test kit, fuck every clinic do you really want someone drawing blood from you that could have either a hidden agenda or may just be tired but ends up infecting you? wrong patient wrong procedure is a significant issue in the medical industry at present, and if mistakes are made at that high of a level, why trust a health care system that will make more money from you if you are infected. and was not aids first administered in a clinical study as a vaccine for hepC?
