I want to one a few weeks ago in a small town in Florida. The first night it was dead - I was the only guy there besides the cute bartender. But I went back a couple nights later and had more success. Turned into a fun evening. So, you never know.

i have and i visit several on a regular basis ,i find them warm and friendly and the patrons welcoming and non-judgmental and yes there is a certain amount of hooking up with others but that is normal for any bar

It has been years but I used to hang out in the French Quarters in New Orleans. There was Laffite's on Bourbon Street that was a nice place. Old history, nice Bar and fire place for cold winter nights. Very friendly people. Very easy going. That was one of my favorite places and will always remember it as the first place a man wrapped his arms around me, Kissed me and made me feel so warm and fuzzy.

I've been to a few. They were all different, as other 'regular' bars are. First was pub like, and cozy. I was alone, nervous, and looked out of place. The guys at the next table invited me over, and asked if I knew I was in a gay bar. I explained I was a horny bi guy, hoping to hook up. It worked! I ended going home with one of them, and we sucked and fucked like rabbits all night.
The next was large, open, loud. I was alone and felt conspicuous. I was nearly cornered by a guy who kept buying me drinks and wanted to take me to his place. We went to my place instead, since it was closer. We had a nice suck and fuck session.
Another was dark and smoky. I didn't stay. Left alone.

Orlando has a few but I have not been to one yet. The thought of it excites me for sure. I don't drink so therefore I don't go to bars. Maybe one day I will get to one.

Not a big "bar" person...but have been to many...so...
What's a gay bar like: Typically like a regular bar, just well some of them are all (mostly) guys, but the more mainstream ones are a pretty mixed crowd usually. One of my favorites is more just a mainstream high-end restaurant with a bar/cocktail lounge. The surrounding neighborhood is better described as a gayborhood, so it attracts many gay men. However, on any given night, it is easily 50-50 gay/straight (Think like a high end Cheers, with many gay guys

Some can be cruisey, some can be very laid back. Some can be very intimidating...
Some have theme nights: karaoke, drag, leather, bears, whatever, etc.
Like I said, I rarely go to a "gay bar" but if I was going to a new one, I'd be sure to go with friends, just in case.

There was one in New Orleans that I used to go to with a friend. It was kind of off the beaten path and most anything went there up to and including hand jobs or blow jobs at the bar. I wish I was there with my Master willing right now so I could show him in public how much I loved his feet and doing his bidding.
