in place of my 8Mb card!

Had the damned thing worked it would have been great.

I called them and they are going to sent me what my computer had in it to start with.

Why they did not do this to start with...I for one do not know.

I can only hope my old one holds out for another three or four working days.

In the mean time you Ladies and gentlemen are streaking!:p

Gateway is notoriously bad on service...and parts...and, well, computers. Hope you get a working one eventually.

I've got a 64MB Prophet in mine, but I've gotta leave the side open with a box fan (no kidding) to keep the thing cool. I've considered the 128, but I might have to clamp a wall-unit A/C on to the side of my computer.

It did have a rather large heatsink on it i thought.

Oh, I'm sure the card was ok, But not the right one for my computer.

The first hint was the three loud beeps when i pushed the on button.

The second was when the monitor went blank and stayed that way.

The third was when the computer shut itself off after i heard windows load up.

Not a good sign.

I sorta thought they screwed up when i saw that the vido card was three inches longer than my old one and needed a large heat sink.

The tech ask "Did you load the software?"

I had the case open i guess i could have thrown it inside.

Loading the software was the last step. Kinda hard to do with a dead computer.

I have a HP and love it...have a three year extended warranty and they come to me. Cost a little more but was worth it when my modem went out. I computer illiterate.
