The cheapest premium gas I found today was $1.81.9. It cost me $30 to fill up my Corvette and $36 to fill my SUV. Thinking about getting rid of the SUV, but don't think I can part with the Vette.

How much are you paying for gas, has the price caused you to alter your driving habits; and what do you think would be a reasonable price for gas? Oh yeah, I'm living in Florida. Maybe the prices here are higher than where you live.

Vlad

Well here in Georgia, regular runs around $1.36,so premium would be around $1.56.I use regular so I don't look at the premium price.I think $1.00 a gallon would be a fair price for premium, and $0.80 for regular.

I just spent three weeks in NOrthern Nevada, and the gas prices there were on a par with florida's. Here in Southern Nevada, we're about $0.20 cheaper per gallon.

(Central Nevada, is around $2.20.9 for Premium. BTW, but then it's got to be trucked out into the middle of nowhere so it's always been more expensive.)

Gas Prices

Wow...we haven't reach the two dollar mark yet, i just paid, $1.46 a gallon, but i think in some countries its up towards $3.00..

I think i might get my old bicycle back out..lol

Don't ....

move to the UK fuel is about 90pence a litre and there are 4.5 litres in a gallon so at a rough guess a gallon here is about £4.05 or about $6.00 a gallon here and 70% of that is tax, some of my figures might be a little off but I think I'm about right, can any of the other Brit's fill in the gap's.

Here in northern cal. it's 1.97. I swallow my complaint however and bow sympathetically to Ezzy and his fellow countrymen.

im payin 1.59 a gallon in NY which is pretty steep compared to 1.33 like 6 months ago but better then 1.69 2 months ago...so ill live

Tn it is about $1.49 for the shit petrol
about $1.70 for the supposed "good grade"

Sucks 'cause it costs me about $25 to fill up my 4-runner and it only gets about 15 mpg and I'm in sales. So, who's paying for dinner tonight? hehe

Gas companies report almost double their profits compared to the same time period last year. Something seems wrong there.

Hey Vlad? You have a Corvette AND an SUV and you're complaining about something as trifling as gas prices? (Dammit Sally, you're supposed to keep thoughts like that to yourself!) Ummmm, sorry. Had to say it. :)

Let's see, lately it's hovering around 75 cents a litre here in Southern Ontario. OUTSIDER says 4.5 litres per gallon, that makes it $3.375 a gallon, so about what bobtoad said. Then you could really complicate the comparison by trying to translate that into US funds. (approx. $0.63 US per Canadian dollar, I think) which makes it, say, $4.62 per gallon. Yowza!!

No matter where you are, it's a good time to NOT own a vehicle. Public transportation is looking better and better.

Wanna go for a ride...? on my bicycle?? lol

Here in NorCal, the lowest prices of the day are $1.83, $1.95, and $2.05 a gal. for regular, mid-grade, and premium respectively. Luckily for me, I just got a new car that does better on milage.

I always bitch about the prices when I have to pay them, but a while back I was in Switzerland and their prices always seem to put me back in a little perspective. When I was there it was between 2 and 3 francs for a liter, not gallon. Shheeesh!

The oil companies sure have us by the short hairs!

Where are our alternate power sources? I mean I realize that oil companies and the like are buying up patents and crushing emerging alternatives, but you'd think something would get through eventually.

There are the new Toyota & Honda hybrid gas/elecitrc cars coming out though. They're supposed to get something like 60 mpg.

American Gasolin whine LOL

Come to Denmark. Current price for ONE LITRE is 2 US$
Which would mean 7,56 US$ per Gallon.

Read it and weep.

Xander I hate to do this, but you must have gotten something wrong with the exchangerate or somethig.

The price is not quite 2$ a litre, but more like 1.00 $ which makes it 3.79$ gallon, at least in my part of Denmark, but since you're living on the Devils Island, you never know what they charge you over there!! ;)

Cheapest gas around here (northern California) is $1.89 for the low grade, $1.99 mid and $2.09 high grade. Went to Los Angeles a month ago and it was 40 cents cheaper ($1.49). But the refineries are here in northern Cal, have to be trucked FURTHER to go to Los Angeles, yet 40 cents cheaper, that makes NO sense!

Husband's big, heavy antique car has gone out only ONCE this year, what with it getting only 5 miles per gallon city and 8 on the highway!

Local oil refinery reports triple profits compared to a year ago. Not triple income, but triple profits after factoring in higher price of crude oil. Income must be 4 or 5 times that of a year ago. Why do they need such obscenely high profits while everyone goes broke?

It's like housing prices around here. One company wants to add 20,000 new jobs on top of the 10,000 new jobs they created last year, and NOBODY has been building new homes for those 30,000 new workers. So the existing homes just keep going up. A house that would be $100,000 anywhere else in the country, was $300,000 a year ago, is $600,000 now and will likely be over $1 million by next summer!

Between housing and gas, nobody can afford to live in Silicon Valley!

U.K. pump price for leaded petrol = 88p/litre.
Roadgoing diesol = 84p/litre.
I think there are 3.78 litres per U.S. gallon.
So that works out about $4.70 a U.S. gallon.
Although we do get a discount on the $170 dollar annual car licence, if the vehicle is under 900 cc engine size. Think that's 55 cubic inches.
It's getting damn expensive to have a social life out here.

I paid $1.52 this evening for regular.

Everybody in Indiana is filling up tonight because at midnight the gas tax goes back into effect. Gas will go up 5-7 cents. Gov. repealled it this summer and it could only last 120 days. I paid $1.52 this evening for regular.

Have I changed my driving habits? Not yet. I usually walk or ride my bike on errands or plan them around opther trips. I did just sign up for a bus trip when it is something that I would normally drive to.
