I've just watched a progamme on TV called "Hard Talk" where the guest was Senator Gary Hart.

His ideas came across as realistic in the light of post-WTC situation. He's the only politician so far who I've heard say that there will be further attacks on American soil. There may have been others but I've missed their interviews.

I also guess he's a Democrat judging by the way he was talking about the early days of Bush's administration wanting to "go it alone" without becoming involved in the world community.

I vaguely remember his name and his face was definitely familiar, but I can't recall exactly what makes him important enough to be a guest on "Hard Talk" which usually invites those people involved in world events, to take part.

Anyone able to enlighten me?

:)

I know he co-authored a report presented before Congress earlier this year on the state of the general threat of terrorism to the US and the country's state of preparedness to deal with terrorism. I know the gist of the report was that the threat of terrorism is substantial and that we're not doing nearly enough to defend against the threat.

Big surprise, huh?

oh yeah, and he nailed Donna Rice aboard the Monkey Business, ruining his chances for the Presidency back in the days when infidelity mattered to the voting public.
