Slowly becoming possibly the most infamous pop star of all time. Imprisoned again for sex with minors..

How many times is this now?

Lost count. He's 70 now and looks like he'll never get out when sentenced. For a few reasons I don't feel same anger as with Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris, however...

I understand that but it's all quite disturbing. Saville and Harris were just "lucky enough" (gag) to be able to use the system to engage in their atrocities.

ETA: Everytime I hear that G. Glitter song during sporting events I want to kill myself.

Always reminded of him when women of a certain age fuck around with their brows.

And I guess Cliff has had his shit all covered up? Bummer. I hate that twat more than spiders. Always thought he was a creepy fuck.

i actually like rock n roll, but it really would be nice if they stopped playing it if only to keep that cunt from getting cash from it.

I just pretend that somehow he is NOT getting cash from it. :(

Hmm. He's never played here now. Maybe it's not common knowledge in Yankland?

i pretty sure most people don't even know the name of the song. it's just something they play at sporting events to keep the crowd pumped here.

Agreed. Most of us are blissfully ignorant to his disgusting predilections.

It's been phased out as a sports anthem these last few years.

On a related note, I hope somebody from Zombie Nation commits a horrible crime soon, so we can get rid of that one dumb tune of theirs that's in every fucking stadium.

I was looking at that Dan Davies book about Savile on amazon the other day. You read it?

i swear i've heard it at lions games at least in the last couple of years, but perhaps i'm wrong.

ohhhh. apparently there's a cover version that is still played.

or so says wikipedia. sadly, the source is a bunk link.

i don't know who this is, but i never remember names.
anyways, i googled him, he looks like an Elvis wannabe

Most don't know what a dirtbag he is, or how he's globe trotted for years to avoid conviction. The sports fans don't even realize what a shit "song" it is, let alone knowing what piece of shit 'ol Gary is.

Who likes to fuck children.

I was a season ticket holder at Colorado Rockies hockey games back when Kevin O'Brien instituted the song in Denver. Man, those were "some days." Many a fan (and occasionally a few players and officials) would adjourn to Zang's Bar and Grill after the games and just across I-25.

Nooo. My mum knew him many years ago ( in the 50's) as she worked in the BBC canteen. RH had just come over from Oz. Apparently he was an ex Olympic swimmer as well as artist? He kept poncing money as was always skint. I'll check it out though.

The Gary Glitter 'sound' that the Americans caught on to very late with 'I love Rock n Roll' by Joan Jett, was actually written by a guy called Alan Merrill. A very good looking guy from the 70's, from New York, in a band called 'The Arrows'. They actually had their own TV show in the UK for a while and were much bigger here than in their native country.

This is from the mid 70's:

Rolf Harris is being questioned on more sex offences. And in today's paper it claims Glitter raped one lass as young as eight.

Difficult to comprehend. In Saville and Harris cases it was truly diabolical as they were so entrusted and these kids weren't attending anywhere to see them, but they abused their power in an opportunist situation.

Glitter was a different proposition insomuch as these girls actually came to see him. So therefore they adored him, in their own way, from the outset. His ego was such that he justified to himself having sex with them as they were 'throwing themselves' at him. It's just the small fact he went for the very young 'uns. Um, no Gazza....
