Gallup: Trump's approval rating takes its steepest drop

https://news.gallup.com/poll/308675/trump-job-rating-slides-satisfaction-tumbles.aspx

Gallup has recorded its sharpest approval rating dip to date since President Trump took office, currently standing at 43%, per recently released polling.

What's happening: The decline comes as about 65% of Americans say that Trump was too slow to take major steps to handle the threat of the coronavirus in the U.S., Pew Research found in a survey published Thursday.

Yes, but: Trump's current approval remains higher than most of the ratings he has received while in the White House, Gallup notes. His average since taking office is 40%, per Gallup data.

Where it stands: American's approval of Trump's presidency has dropped six percentage points since March 24, shortly after he advised people to self-isolate for 15 days to slow the spread of the virus and signed an emergency relief package.

This is about the third time I've seen a post on the drop in his rating in the last couple of weeks and when I look, it always cites 43 percent. First, that's not a recent drop, and second, it's just insane that it's not at 15 percent instead. It's just insane that there are still so many people supporting this deranged con man who is destroying everything he touches and has extended his rot to actually killing people in the thousands.

It is mainly his fault that America is in this spot. Modern day Repug presidents are good for nothing. This is what happens when a grifter who doesn't give a shit about science or the American people, occupies the WH.

His approval rating is piss poor. During a time of crisis, presidents usually enjoy a nice huge bump, but, because he is incompetent and hateful, only his diehard zombies rally around him.

Time for someone new come November!

What if it drops to 2016 levels?

Remember the polls showed that Mrs. Clinton was going to win in a landslide? Remember when Trump mowed down 17 republicans in a row during the primary and the fake news kept saying he was going to be out before he started?

Just keep trusting the polls.;)

The TDS Trump-haters aren't even close to being connected with reality. Meanwhile, they seem to believe that Joe Biden is a competent human being? lol

No the polls did not show that, at least not the ones closest to the elections, those polls showed Clinton with a lead of about 4%, which was in the margin of error of, 19 times out of 20.

Also Trump lost the popular vote, and narrowly won several states, one by only 10,000 votes.

So you wish to write off every poll, fine by me, but maybe you also may want to read this link, again your education is lacking...did you just spend high school sucking cock and getting fucked?

How many times has he gone bankrupt? His daddy had to bail him out so many times.

He has the Midas touch, alright, but not with gold, everything he touches turns to SHIT!

They only support him because of his xenophobia and racism, the minute he shows a drop of sympathy towards the groups they despise, they will turn on him. Lol, as if he is capable of sympathy.

First of all, she won the popular vote by a nice margin.

Second, stop trying to hide behind a native woman's AV from 1973 to hide the fact that you are just another white male Boomer Trumpette. LMAO

Judging by your Avatar, your grasp on reality is tentative at best...

The polls are only worth a damn when they are in Trump's favor. Just ask Derpy.

I’m looking forward to the November poll more with each passing day.

New poll shows Clinton over Trump by double-digits

New poll: Clinton leading Trump by double-digits
Now PlayingNew poll: Clinton leading...

The poll shows Clinton with 50% support to Trump's 38%, with 5% backing Libertarian Gary Johnson and 2% supporting the Green Party's Jill Stein.
The poll comes on the heels of the third presidential debate, which a post-debate CNN/ORC snap poll showed Clinton won.
The ABC News survey's results show Clinton with a 20-point advantage among women, and a 3-point edge with men -- a group that has tilted toward Trump for most of the 2016 race.

Clinton leads among voters of all education levels -- but her 3-point advantage with those without college degrees is smaller than her 20-point lead among voters with college degrees.
Conway touts Trump's 'drain the swamp' message, admits 'we are behind'
Trump's strongest group remains white, non-college educated voters, who back him 55% to 36%.
The results showing Clinton with a growing lead largely match CNN's Poll of Polls, which averages recent national surveys. That Poll of Polls shows Clinton ahead 48% to Trump's 39%.
The ABC News poll was conducted October 20-22 and includes 874 likely voters. Its margin of error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Steepest drop comes after the steepest rise, so not a surprise. He got the normal "crisis" bump, which subsided as they tend to do.

Opinion about Trump has been inelastic all along. How many people have changed their minds about him in the last 5 years? He's always had minority support, and given that he's governed as President of the Trump Base and not as President of the United States, he's given up on boosting his popularity. But he's not really losing support either; his cult is dug in too deep.

If you bothered to look at the link, it showed all the polls right up to the Election. In fact there are actually several that showed Trump in front (USC/Los Angeles Times had Trump at 48% Clinton at 43% October 30-Nov 5th). My point was the polls were not wrong, Trumps victory fell within the margin of error of the polls.

Which is what I was pointing out to Shelly, but it seems you need education on it too.

What the media was broadcasting has no relation to the polls, they all put their spin on the numbers...

They are crap no matter who they are about

The polls are only worth a damn when they are in Trump's favor. Just ask Derpy.

I don't trust any of them. They are wrong too often no matter who is involved.

Very true. All the Dems need to do is lure out some more voters and he is history. They do have a clear incentive now.
