Gabba Gabba Hey!

Yabba Dabba Doo!

Oh wait, that was prehistoric rock, wasn't it? Nevermind.

Are you fucking kidding?

Hey Ho Let's Go!

Joey is gone...but never forgotten.

Wanchewtreefoe!

Ah a Ramone's fan!!! *smile* I've seen then a couple times- many many years ago. We had a nice Joey tribute thread here a few months ago... more than a few of us Ramone's fans around. You should talk to Sparky! Going to have to put play some right now!

I worked on "Sedated", a tribute show by Jerungdu Theater last fall.
http://www.jerungdu.com/Ramones.html
Sedated captures the sights and sounds of the greatest punk band ever-- The Ramones-- as narrated by Sheena, their number one fan. Jerungdu Theater takes you on a humorous musical tour exploring what it means to be a Ramones fan and a punk rocker. This live musical revue includes "Teenage Lobotomy", "Pet Semetary", "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" and other greatest hits.

The central theme of the show, and of The Ramones philosophy is that "freaks" and "losers" may still be worthy of respect and success. More power to them.

You apparently missed my last two avs.

One was Mr. Tim Armstrong, front man of Rancid
The other was the cover to Against the Grain, an album by Bad Religion (Whom I am going to go see on Saturday night. Hellz ya)

So yes, I do.

Oh, yeah--Sid Vicious doing "My Way" is just the thing I need sometimes to start the day....

Thumper said fuck!

Heh. I've been corrupted into liking them. Haven't heard but a fraction of their material, though. Cool stuff.

Let's rip these shirts up while we're at it, too.

And somebody get over here coz I gotta stop slamming against this wall...

I was wondering if that was a Ramone's reference in the thread title. I'm not hardcore, but I have some of their stuff.

Bonzo goes to Bitburg is probably my favorite song, but all of Ramone's Mania is great.

Well I don't care about history,
fun fun rock and roll high school,
cause thats not where I wanna be,
fun fun rock and roll high school,
I just wanna have some kicks,
I just wanna get some chicks,
Rock rock rock rock rock and roll high school.

I can't believe I still remember that and plenty more.
Thank god for the Ramones!!

I'm disappointed. I thought this thread would be about hardcore Dutch techno, the kind that makes your ears bleed.

For those who may wonder what it's all about...

"Gabba Gabba Hey" was a line from the movie "Freaks" (1932). The film was controversial because actual sideshow "freaks" were cast, people with physical malformations and mental deficiencies. The context of the line is "We accept you, one of us. Gabba gabba hey!" spoken by several "freaks".

I don't recall the Ramones song it's from, but they borrowed the expression to provide a connection with their audience. The Ramones were self-defined "freaks", and reached out to accept the freakish character of their fan base.

Syd, Nancy, Phil et al....

"Too Drunk to Fuck" is still my fave glue-hair cut...

I think Gabba Gabba Hey! Is from the song 'Pinhead' or maybe I haven't had coffee yet and that's not it at all.

Hey Perks...or anyone...what's the Dead Milkmen song.............................ah, yes, Bitchin' Camaro?

Ha Ha...Das a good one.

Who was this?

I gotta six pack and nothing to do!

I think it was Black Flag...right?

Do I really want...

..to get embroiled in this thread?

Oh alright - I couldn't resist.

The Ramones - ROFLMAO

Sheena is a punk rocker - so punk-like it could have been sung by the Beach Boys.

But what do I expect from our American cousins?

The Clash, The Damned, The Sex Pistols, X-ray Specs, UK Subs.....

Now they were punk bands!!!!
