Interesting thing I've learned today:

The flea mates by a process known as "traumatic intercourse." The female flea has no vagina: rather the male jabs its spiked penis indiscriminately somehwere into its abdomin, creating a "vagina" by the wound, and pumping the female full of semen so that her abdominal region swells. The wound scabs over the baby fleas gestate in the female. When they are ready to be born, her body explodes, and the infant fleas come swarming out of her mangled corpse.

Side-blotched lizards
